New York Red Bulls vs New England Revolution: Predictions, Odds, and Roster Notes

Last year’s regular season winners have had a rough start to the 2019 campaign. They’ll walk into Foxboro Massachusetts Saturday evening to try and get their offensive mojo back.

How to Watch

What: New York Red Bulls vs New England Revolution

Where: Gillette Stadium (Foxboro Massachusetts)

When: Saturday April 20 2019 @ 7:30 PM EST

New York Red Bulls (away)

Head Coach: Chris Armas

Key Players: Bradley Wright-Phillips, Alex Muyl, Luis Robles

Standings: 1-2-3 (9th Eastern Conference)

New York has got to figure out how to get back on track, and this week just might be their best opportunity to do so.

They’ve gone from one of the league’s most feared offenses a year ago, at best, a mediocre squad.

This week’s matchup could go a long way to helping them get back on track.

New York fans would like to see Wright-Phillips not only get shots on goal but to convert on those opportunities.

Aggression is how this squad is going to get their groove back, and going up against the worst team in the Eastern Conference is a great way to get back to your winning ways.

With that said, if they want to get back in the winner’s column, they can’t continue to be one team in one half, and another team in the next.

Instead, they are going to have to play a full 90-minute game.

New England Revolution (home)

Brad Friedel

Key Players: Carles Gil, Brad Knighton

Standings: 1-1-5 (12th Eastern Conference)

It would seem that New England is the squad you want to play when you are trying to find your identity as a team.

Last week we saw Atlanta play well and be able to get their first win of the season against this club, and New York is looking to do the same.

The Revolution has proven that they can play with any club in the league.

They have a (semi) prolific defense, but if they want to take the next step as a team finally, then they have to figure out a way to put the ball in the net.

Playing a team who has allowed eight goals in six games may just be their opportunity to get that done.

Expect to see Carles Gil and company pressure the New York defense and try to make Luis Robles earn the victory.

If Gil can be aggressive and attack throughout the evening then New England has a chance to crawl their way out of last place (a spot they have become accustomed to lately).

Predictions and Odds

If you’re a good team who hasn’t been able to find your way, then you want to go up against this New England squad.

Atlanta was able to get back to their winning ways against them, and it’s likely New York will be able to do the same.

New England has one of the worst scoring differentials in the league, so don’t be surprised in the Red Bulls suddenly have a breakout game this week.

Expect to see Bradley Wright-Phillips to get some shots on goal finally, and there is a good chance that he’ll be able to convert on some of those attempts.

I’m looking for New York to get the victory here
