With Dean Kremer getting the starting nod, we start the day targeting the divisional matchup between the Baltimore Orioles and New York Yankees as the star studded duo of Juan Soto and Aaron Judge are in a position to open up the scoring early. Shortly after that, we turn our attention towards the contest between the New York Mets and Atlanta Braves as a pair of inconsistent arms are set to take the mound.

With a six game lead over Baltimore in the AL East division standings, the New York Yankees are just one win away from securing the division title. Even with the division title nearly locked up, the Yankees have more to play for as they currently hold on to the top overall seed in the playoffs. As of writing, the Yankees possess a two game lead over the AL Central leading Cleveland Guardians in the overall standings.
Should the Yankees want to pad their lead over the Guardians for the first overall seed in the AL, then they must continue to rely on their star studded duo of Juan Soto and AL MVP front runner Aaron Judge to produce offensive production early on in their contest. Their elite blend of power and contact ability have directly contributed to their impressive marks on offense as a whole as the Yankees rank near the top of the board in Team Total Hits, RBIs, Total Runs Scored, and On Base Percentage.
Fortunately for New York, their elite top of their order will have the opportunity to open up the scoring early as they are set to face off against the Orioles Dean Kremer. Kremer has struggled with limiting opposing offensive production this season, taking the mound with an ERA of 4.19, a WHIP of 1.251, and a FIP of 4.27. Even with a back end that ranks well above league average in Defensive Efficiency, Kremer will struggle to neutralize the Yankees offense due to his own poor level of production.
As for the Orioles, their offense draws a much tougher assignment as they are set to face off against the Yankees Clarke Schmidt. Schmidt has excelled at limiting the number of opposing scoring opportunities this season, taking the mound with an ERA of 2.37 while conceding just 20 Earned Runs Allowed in 14 starts. With the Orioles offense ranking equally as well in the same previously mentioned offensive metrics, Clarke is prone to regress in his efforts of limiting opposing scoring production.

Minutes after the conclusion of our first YRFI, our next one kicks off with the New York Mets facing off against the Atlanta Braves in a NL East divisional matchup. The stakes are high entering Tuesday’s contest as the Mets are currently two games ahead of the Braves in the wildcard standings for the last wildcard spot in the playoffs.
That puts the Mets in control of their own destiny, simply needing to beat the Braves in their three game series to secure a playoff berth. In order for New York to do so, their red hot offense will need to continue to play at a high rate as the Braves Spencer Schwellenbach has excelled at keeping opposing runners off the bases as his WHIP of 1.103 indicates. Luckily for the Mets, the Braves defense as a whole gives Schwellenbach minimal support as Atlanta ranks 24th overall in Defensive Efficiency.
On the other side of the field, the Braves underwhelming offense will get an opportunity to round back into form as they are set to face off against the Mets Luis Severino. While Severino has managed to limit the damage by possessing an ERA of 3.79, his FIP of 4.20 indicates negative regression is looming large as his individual play on the mound is underwhelming at best.
