Leaping over the Braves in the wildcard standings is their best course of making the playoffs as the Milwaukee Brewers possess a nine game lead for first in the NL Central. With less than 20 games remaining, the Cubs must rattle off a win streak in order for them to close the gap between them and the Braves. Unfortunately for them, they are set to face off against the Los Angeles Dodgers who are the current betting favorites to win the World Series.

Should they want to kick off their streak with a massive win over the vaunted Dodgers, then their offense must take advantage of Walker Buehler’s struggles on the mound. In 12 appearances so far this season, Buehler enters the contest with an ERA of 5.67 and a FIP of 5.98. While Buehler is certainly capable of rounding back into dominant form, he makes for an instant fade target until he proves otherwise.

On the other side of the mound, the Dodgers offense will be in a position to open up the scoring early as they are set to face off against the Cubs Kyle Hendricks. As for the Red Sox, their offense will be given an opportunity to match the Orioles' scoring pace as they also get the benefit of swinging against an equally struggling pitcher with Cade Povich set to take the mound. Povich has struggled with limiting opposing offensive production in his minimal appearances, conceding over one Hit Against per Inning Pitched while generating an ERA of 5.76, a WHIP of 1.601, and a FIP of 5.03.
