We cap off our Monday with a YRFI when the Houston Astros elite top of their batting order battles it out against the Oakland Athletics rotational pitcher Hogan Harris. Well before that takes place, we focus on the matchup between the Tampa Bay Rays and New York Yankees as both offenses are in a position to succeed against a pair of underwhelming pitchers.
For more information about the YRFI market and what factors make them worth a wager, take a look at our breakdown of what are YRFI bets.

After starting the year near the bottom of the AL West standings, the Houston Astros have managed to turn their season around and are now tied for first with the Seattle Mariners. A major reason for their turnaround stems from their defense, going from near dead last to above league average in both Defensive Efficiency and Team Total Pitching ERA.
While their defense took some time to round back into form, their offense had to carry a brunt of their production in order for them to remain competitive by ranking near the top of the board in Team Total Hits, RBIs, Runs Scored, and On Base Percentage. They field one one of the most lethal top of the orders in the league with current league leading Hits contender Jose Altuve, all around slugger Alex Bregman, and the always dangerous Yordan Alvarez kicking things off.
Every bit of their production will be on display from the opening pitch as Harris has been prone to putting runners in scoring position with a WHIP of 1.448 and FIP of 4.90. Luckily for Harris, it has yet to come back to bite him as he takes the mound with an ERA of 3.40, but he can ill-afford to get away with the same lackluster performance against a far superior batting unit that makes contact at a high rate.
As for the Athletics, their offense has as good a chance as any to try and match the Astros elite batting production against routine fade target Spencer Arrighetti as he continues to struggle in his 2024 campaign. Arrighetti has yet to generate any sort of positive production this season as he takes the mound with an ERA of 5.63, a WHIP of 1.600, 84 Hits Against, and 50 Earned Runs Allowed in 17 games played.

Well before our first YRFI gets underway, we target the first game on the board as the New York Yankees look to close the Baltimore Orioles lead at the top of the AL East standings with a win over the Tampa Bay Rays. Their offense has gone through a lull over the past few weeks, but are now in a position to turn it around against the Rays Zack Littell who has struggled with avoiding contact so far this season.
With an astonishing 120 Hits Against and a WHIP of 1.372, Littell’s struggles are poised to continue against one of the more top heavy top of the orders in the league. Juan Soto has continued to excel at getting on base at a high rate while Aaron Judge currently leads the league in Home Runs. Their production has elevated the Yankees offense as a whole to near league best marks in Team Total Hits, RBIs, Runs Scored, and On Base Percentage.
As for the Rays, they have been underperforming per preseason projections by ranking fourth in the division standings and are currently out of wildcard contention. Their lack of offensive production has been the main culprit for their struggles, yet now get the opportunity to build some midseason momentum against the Yankees Carlos Rodon who takes the mound with an ERA of 4.63, a WHIP of 1.280, and FIP of 4.68.
