One of our favorite YRFI fade targets returns as Spencer Arrighetti is set to take the mound for the Houston Astros. By fading the struggling Arrighetti, we simultaneously get to back the elite top of their batting order as they get to face off against the underwhelming Rockies defense. We then turn our sights towards the matchup between the Twins and Diamondbacks as both offenses are in a position to succeed from the opening pitch. For more information about the YRFI market and what factors make them worth a wager, take a look at our breakdown of what are YRFI bets.
As for where to wager on YRFIs, the FanDuel Sportsbook has been the top choice for the market as they routinely put out lines before everyone else and at very favorable odds when compared to the rest of the mobile sportsbooks. If you have not signed up yet with the FanDuel sportsbook and are looking to get in on the action, you can claim $150 in bonus bets by simply creating an account and winning your first bet of at least $5 wagered. Be sure to wager the $5 on a heavy favorite or alt line immediately after signing up, maximizing your chances of winning and collecting the $150 in bonus bets.

After being one game away from the World Series in 2023, the Houston Astros hopes of making the playoffs in 2024 is starting to look more bleak with each passing day. They started the year by getting off to a rough start that saw them near the bottom of the AL West standings, having to desperately climb out of a large hole in an effort to salvage their season. While they are now in second place in their division, they are still a handful of games back from the Seattle Mariners and wildcard contention.
A majority of the blame can be pointed towards their pitching staff as they rank well below league average in Team Total Pitching ERA while their defense as a whole ranks in the top half of the board in Defensive Efficiency. Starting pitcher Spencer Arrighetti has done them no favors in turning that area of the defense around as he takes the mound with an ERA of 6.36 and an astonishingly high WHIP of 1.741.
While the defense has been a rollercoaster of production, the Astros offense have managed to stay consistently great off the bats of an elite top of the order that features Jose Altuve, Alex Bregman, and Yordan Alvarez. Over the course of the season, the Astros have consistently ranked in the top half of the league in Team Total Hits, RBIs, Total Runs Scored, and On Base Percentage.
Every bit of their offensive production will be on display against a Rockies defense that ranks near dead last in both Team Total Pitching ERA and Defensive Efficiency. Like Arrighetti, the Rockies Ryan Feltner has also been a lackluster source of production as he has mightily struggled in his 2024 campaign. Feltner enters the contest with an ERA of 6.02, a WHIP of 1.475, 97 Hits Allowed, and 54 Earned Runs Against.

After the conclusion of our first YRFI, we turn our sights towards the night slate when the Minnesota Twins battle it out against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Like the Astros, both the Diamondbacks and Twins have had similar trajectories as both teams struggled at the start of the year before building some momentum at the halfway point.
A big reason for the Twins turnaround stems from their offense, a unit that now ranks in the top half of the board in Team Total Hits, RBIs, Total Runs Scored, and On Base Percentage after starting out the year well below league average. They will be presented a great opportunity to continue their offensive success, facing off against the Diamondbacks Ryne Nelson who takes the mound with an ERA of 5.18 and a WHIP of 1.508.
As for Arizona, their offense has been consistently great as they ranked near the top of the board in the same previously mentioned metrics. That bodes well for the sake of the YRFI as they are presented a far tougher test against the Twins Simeon Woods Richardson who takes the mound with an ERA of 3.26, a WHIP of 1.137, just 52 Total Hits Allowed, and 22 Earned Runs Against.
