Monday’s slate of YRFIs kicks off with one of our favorite fade targets as Spencer Schwellenbach takes the mound for the Atlanta Braves. Getting to fade Schwellenbach also means we get to back the Braves' elite top of their order as they face off against the struggling Lance Lynn. We then turn our sights towards the Rangers and Brewers as both offenses are in a position to succeed from the opening pitch. For more information about the YRFI market and what factors make them worth a wager, take a look at our breakdown of what are YRFI bets.

It’s a battle between two underperforming clubs as both the Atlanta Braves and St. Louis Cardinals entered the year as preseason favorites to win their respective divisions yet both are currently in second place. The Braves regression is especially alarming as they came into the season expected to rival the Los Angeles Dodgers for the World Series title. They have yet to look the part as they continue to play as a pedestrian unit at best.
Especially on the offensive end as the Braves enter the contest ranked below league average in Team Total Hits, RBIs, Total Runs Scored, and On Base Percentage. Luckily for the YRFI, we only focus on their elite top of the order as they still field one of the most dangerous groupings in the league with Jarred Kelenic, speedster Ozzie Albies, Marcell Ozuna, and former Home Run leader Matt Olson kicking things off.
With a dangerous crop of batters poised to positively regress, the Braves are in a position to start building momentum as they face off against the Cardinals veteran Lance Lynn. While still productive at 37 years old, Lynn has shown signs of regression with his lack of command. Lynn takes the mound with an ERA of 4.08, a WHIP of 1.427, an FIP of 4.08, 73 Total Strikeouts, 30 Batters Walked, 77 Hits Allowed, and 34 Earned Runs Against.
As for the Cardinals, their underwhelming offense gets the benefit of facing off against one of our favorite fade targets in Spencer Schwellenbach as he continues to struggle in his minimal appearances so far this season. That bodes well for a unit that has equally struggled on offense in the same previously mentioned metrics, getting to face off against a lackluster arm who takes the mound with an ERA of 4.98 and a WHIP of 1.200.

Shortly after the conclusion of our first YRFI, our next one kicks off when the reigning World Series champions face off against the NL Central leading Milwaukee Brewers. While the Rangers' hopes of defending their title slowly diminishes as they trickle down the standings, the Brewers continue to play well over their preseason projections as they entered the year listed as high as +1000 to win the NL Central division title.
A big reason for the Brewers' hot start to the season has stemmed from their offense as they currently rank well above league average in Team Total Hits, RBIs, Total Runs Scored, and On Base Percentage. Every bit of their production will be needed against the Rangers' Michael Lorenzen as he enters the contest with an ERA of 3.00, a WHIP of 1.153, 52 Hits Allowed, and 24 Earned Runs Against in 12 games played.
As for the Rangers, they face off against former NL Cy Young contender Freddy Peralta who continues to mightily regress after his hot start to the season. Once listed as a near favorite, Peralta has drastically fallen down the board as he continues to struggle with his command. His WHIP, along with his ERA, continues to rise and shows that he is as vulnerable as ever to getting rocked from the opening pitch.
