Plenty of games on Friday’s slate fit the mold for a YRFI, including a NLCS rematch between the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Philadelphia Phillies. Both high powered offenses are poised to generate production from the opening pitch as a pair of underwhelming pitchers are set to take the mound. We then go back to the well in the matchup between the Brewers and Padres after cashing the YRFI in Thursday’s slate. For more information about the YRFI market and what factors make them worth a wager, take a look at our breakdown of what are YRFI bets.
As for where to wager on YRFIs, the FanDuel Sportsbook has been the front runner for the market as they consistently put out lines before everyone else and at very favorable odds when compared to the rest of the mobile sportsbooks. If you have not signed up yet with the FanDuel sportsbook, you can claim $200 in bonus bets by simply creating an account and winning your first bet of at least $5 wagered. After sitting in fourth place in the NL West standings for a majority of the season, the Arizona Diamondbacks have started to put together an impressive stretch of play that has thrusted them into second. The harsh reality is that the Los Angeles Dodgers are still head and shoulders above the rest of the division, forcing the Diamondbacks to turn their attention towards securing a wildcard spot.
Should they want to secure one of the highly coveted wildcard spots, then their offense will need to continue to mask their underwhelming defense. That has been a common theme for Arizona all season long, and a major reason why they have struggled to contend for the NL West division title. As of writing, the Diamondbacks rank near dead last in Team Total Pitching ERA and Defensive Efficiency while they rank well above league average in Team Total Hits, RBIs, Runs Scored, and On Base Percentage.
Their offense will be given a great opportunity to continue to succeed as they are set to face off against the Phillies Taijuan Walker who takes the mound with an ERA of 5.33 and a WHIP of 1.449. To make matters worse for Walker, their defense has steadily regressed the past few weeks as they trickle down the board to league average in Defensive Efficiency.
As for the Phillies offense, it should be business as usual for one of the more formidable top of the orders in the league as the Diamondbacks Jordan Montgomery has been even worse in his 2024 campaign. Especially with two time Total Hits leader Trea Turner back in the fold after sitting out more than a month with an injury. Montgomery enters the contest with an ERA of 6.00, a WHIP of 1.632, 72 Hits Allowed, and 38 Earned Runs Against in 11 games played.

After cashing the YRFI in their Thursday night matchup, we target the next game of their series as both offenses are in a position to continue to succeed right out of the gate. Especially with both offenses continuing to play as one of the best units in the league, ranking well above league average in Team Total Hits, RBIs, Total Runs Scored, and On Base Percentage.
Starting with the Padres, they roll out Dylan Cease who was supposed to replicate the lost production of former Cy Young winner Blake Snell after he left the organization for the San Francisco Giants. Cease has yet to do his part since joining the Padres, playing well below Snell’s 2023 level as he currently possesses an ERA of 3.95, a WHIP of 1.073, 67 Hits Allowed, and an astonishing 38 Earned Runs Against.
As for the Brewers, Colin Rea gets the unfortunate favor of having to go against a Padres offense who trots out Luis Arraez Jr and Fernando Tatis Jr at the top of their order. Rea’s inability to avoid opposing contact will spell doom against Arraez Jr who currently leads the league in Total Hits. Should Arraez get on base from the jump, then the Padres will find themselves in a great position to score with Tatis’ elite blend of power and contact ability following after.
