Plenty of big name pitchers take the mound on Friday, but that does not mean that there are no YRFIs worth a wager as two stick out above the rest. We start the day continuing to fade Kevin Gausman who has yet to look like the preseason Cy Young contender that he was once listed as. We then turn our sights towards the matchup between the Reds and Brewers as both offenses are in a position to succeed out of the gate. For more information about the YRFI market and what factors make them worth a wager, take a look at our breakdown of what are YRFI bets.
As for where to wager on YRFIs, the FanDuel sportsbook has been the top choice for the market as they routinely put out lines before everyone else and at very favorable odds when compared to the rest of the mobile sportsbooks. If you have not signed up yet with the FanDuel sportsbook, you can claim $200 in bonus bets by simply creating an account and winning your first bet of at least $5 wagered. Be sure to wager the $5 on a heavy favorite immediately after signing up, maximizing your chances of winning and collecting the $200 in bonus bets.

It’s been a roller coaster of a year for the Blue Jays ace pitcher Kevin Gausman. He entered the year as one of the favorites to win the Cy Young award but quickly fell down the oddsboard after breaking news reported he sustained an injury. It was announced that he would not have to get surgery as it was just a shoulder strain in his throwing arm, missing most of Spring Training by only playing in the preseason finale.
His rust from sitting out showed from the beginning, as well as clear indication that his injury is obviously bothering him. This resulted in a horrific start to the year to our benefit as he was a routine fade target for our YRFI series. He has since started to round back into competitive form, but still is prone to getting rocked as he takes the mound with an ERA of 4.00, a WHIP of 1.249, 71 Hits Allowed, and 31 Earned Runs Against.
The Guardians offense will do him no favors as they have carried their team to first place in the AL Central standings. They are a patient group who excels at getting on base and capitalizing on their scoring opportunities as they currently rank above league average in Total Runs Scored, RBIs, and On Base Percentage. Better yet against Gausman’s aggressiveness, he presents an opportunity for them to start making more consistent contact as well.
As for the Blue Jays offense, it’s been an abysmal start to the season as they rank on the opposite end of the spectrum across the same previously mentioned offensive metrics. Luckily for them, the Guardians Logan Allen has mightily struggled so far this year as he has an inability to keep opposing runners out of scoring position. Logan Allen takes the mound with an ERA of 5.57 and a WHIP of 1.515.

Shortly after the conclusion of our first YRFI of the day, our next one gets underway when the Cincinnati Reds battle it out against the Milwaukee Brewers in an NL Central divisional showdown. The Brewers are currently in first place in the NL Central standings, but the Cincinnati Reds have managed to string together an impressive past couple of weeks of play and are surging up the board.
Should the Reds want to continue to close the gap on the Brewers, then their exciting young offense will need to continue to play at a high rate against Peralta who has severely regressed since climbing up to as high as second on the oddsboard to win the NL Cy Young award. After a cold stretch of play, Peralta now possesses an ERA of 3.95, a WHIP of 1.132, 54 Total Hits Allowed, and 31 Earned Runs Against.
As for the Brewers, their offense has been dominant from the start as they rank near the top of the board across most offensive metrics. They will be in a position to successfully make contact once again against the Reds aggressive Hunter Greene, taking advantage of his knack for overly relying on brute force to whiff past batters. Greene enters the contest with an ERA of 3.61 and a WHIP of 1.151.
