After wagering on the NRFI in game two of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Pittsburgh Pirates series, we flip the script and back the idea of early runs being scored in the series finale of their contest as the Dodgers elite top of their order are set to face off against a much weaker arm this time around. We then turn our sights towards the matchup between the Padres and Diamondbacks as both offenses duel it out against underwhelming pitchers. For more information about the YRFI market and what factors make them worth a wager, take a look at our breakdown of what are YRFI bets.

After successfully cashing the NRFI in their previous contest, both the Dodgers and Pirates are now in a position to potentially cash the YRFI as the quality of scoring opportunities increases. Especially on the Dodgers end as they face off against a weaker arm in Bailey Falter after having to go against the NL Rookie of the Year contender Paul Skenes who made quick work of their elite top of their order with his elite blend of speed and accuracy.
Limiting the scoring early was an impressive feat on Skenes' end, especially with the Dodgers fielding the most dangerous top of the order in the league. The Dodgers now face off against the Pirates Bailey Falter who comes into the contest with an ERA of 3.22, a WHIP of 0.948, 38 Strikeouts, 45 Hits Allowed, and 23 Earned Runs Against in 11 total games played.
Any one of the Dodgers first three players would be the star on any other team with current MVP front runner Mookie Betts, slugger Shohei Ohtani, and former league leader in Hits Freddie Freeman kicking things off. Their production alone has thrusted the Dodgers up to near the top of the board in Team Total Hits, RBIs, Total Runs Scored, and On Base Percentage and should bring Falter down to reality from the opening pitch.
While the Pirates defense is starting to resemble a formidable unit, their offense is a different story as they rank below league average in Team Total Hits, On Base Percentage, RBIs, and Runs Scored. Luckily for them, they get an opportunity to match their defensive production against the Dodgers regressing pitcher Walker Buehler who has struggled so far this season. Buehler takes the mound against the Pirates with an ERA of 4.32 and a WHIP of 1.320.

Later in the night we shift our focus towards our next YRFI when the Arizona Diamondbacks battle it out against the San Diego Padres in a NL West divisional matchup. The Diamondbacks came into the year projected to be the closest threat to dethroning the Dodgers for the division title, yet the Padres are occupying that spot as they are currently second in the NL West standings and on the oddsboard.
The Padres are now in a good position to pad their lead over the Diamondbacks with their offense opening the scoring early against Slade Cecconi. Cecconi has been a popular fade target for our daily YRFI series as he has severely underwhelmed in his 2024 campaign. Cecconi comes into the contest with an ERA of 5.59, a WHIP of 1.054, 31 Hits Allowed, and 23 Earned Runs Against in 7 games played.
As for the Diamondbacks, they face off against the Padres Randy Vasquez who has been as equally as underwhelming as his counterpart Cecconi. Vasquez takes the mound against the Padres with an ERA of 5.74 and a WHIP of 1.613. His struggles are poised to continue as the Diamondbacks offense ranks above league average in Team Total Hits, Runs Scored, On Base Percentage, and RBIs.
