After a limited Thursday slate, Friday brings us a full slate for us to groom through. Two YRFIs immediately stick out as the regressing Freddy Peralta faces off against the surging Houston Astros while two elite offenses battle it out with the San Diego Padres and Atlanta Braves looking to open up the scoring early in their contest. For more information about the YRFI market and what factors make them worth a wager, take a look at our breakdown of what are YRFI bets.
As for where to wager on YRFIs, the FanDuel sportsbook has been the top choice for the market as they routinely put out lines before everyone else and at very favorable odds when compared to the rest of the mobile sportsbooks. If you have not signed up yet and want to get in on the action, you can claim $150 in bonus bets by simply creating an account and winning your first bet of at least $5 wagered. Be sure to wager the $5 on a heavy favorite immediately after signing up, maximizing your chances of winning and collecting the $150 in bonus bets.

It’s never exactly a settling idea to take a YRFI in a game that features a Cy Young contender, but that is exactly what we are doing when Freddy Peralta takes on the Houston Astros elite top of their order. It’s not as if Peralta is in top form as he has recently gone on a skid after dominating the start of the year. Since finding himself as high as second on the odds board for the Cy Young award at +500, he is now down to as low as +1600 as of writing.
Speaking of regression, it seems as if the Houston Astros have started to get into a groove after starting out the year as bad as they could. The Astros came into the season with World Series contending aspirations but quickly found themselves at the bottom of the AL West standings. After a recent winning streak, the Astros are now just 5.5 games back from first in their own division.
Their recent hot stretch of play can be attributed to their elite offense, a unit that ranks well above average in Team Total Hits, Runs Scored, RBIs, and On Base Percentage. Jose Altuve, Kyle Tucker, and Yordan Alvaraez are as lethal as it gets and are more than capable of giving Freddy Peralta troubles. Peralta comes into the contest with an ERA of 3.63 and a WHIP of 1.052.
As for the Brewers, their offense will be in a great position to stay within scoring pace of the Astros as they are set to face off against the struggling Hunter Brown. It’s been a nightmare start to the year for Brown, kicking off his 2024 campaign with an ERA of 7.79, a WHIP of 2.010, 36 Total Strikeouts, 18 Batters Walked, 47 Hits Allowed, and a startling 28 Earned Runs Against in eight games played.

Before the highly anticipated duel between Freddy Peralta and the Astros offense, we turn our focus towards two productive batting lineups when the San Diego Padres battle it out against the Atlanta Braves. This game is poised to be a fun one as two offenses that rank above average in Team Total Hits, Runs Scored, RBIs, and On Base Percentage tee off against two struggling pitchers.
Starting with the Padres, it’s been a less than ideal start for starting pitcher Matt Waldron as opposing offenses have had no issue with getting on base against him. Waldron comes into the contest with an ERA of 5.49 and a WHIP of 1.449 and now needs to find answers in a pinch against the Braves lethal offense. Even if Ronald Acuna misses another game, their top of the order can rival the best of them with Michael Harris, Ozzie Albies, and Matt Olson bringing an elite blend of power and contact ability.
Speaking of the Braves, they trot out Max Fried who has had a roller coaster start to his season. Fried has taken on a bigger role in the absence of Spencer Strider, yet has been shaky as he possesses an ERA of 3.57 and a WHIP of 1.037. His WHIP will be tested from the opening pitch as the Padres Hits Leader contender Luis Arraez leads off the batting order after being acquired in a trade from the Miami Marlins.
