As it has been all season long, Thursday provides another small slate for us to groom through. Luckily there are still two YRFIs for us to wager on as we target the Oakland Athletics and Houston Astros matchup with the A’s in a position to round back into form against Cristian Javier while New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies offenses take advantage of two underwhelming pitchers. For more information about the YRFI market and what factors make them worth a wager, take a look at our breakdown of what are YRFI bets.
As for where to wager on YRFIs, FanDuel sportsbook has been the front runner for the market as they consistently put out lines before everyone else and at very favorable odds when compared to the rest of the mobile sportsbooks. If you have not signed up yet and are looking to get in on the action, you can claim $150 in bonus bets for simply creating an account and winning your first bet of at least $5 wagered. Be sure to wager the $5 on a heavy favorite immediately after signing up, maximizing your chances of winning your bet and collecting the $150 in bonus bets.

After getting off to a rough start that saw them as low as dead last in the AL West standings, the Houston Astros have started to build some momentum and now are only six games back from first. A shocking sight to see for a team that was pegged as one of the favorites to win the World Series, but it’s a long season and the Astros still have plenty of time to dig out of the hole that they created.
One thing is for certain and their offense is not to blame for their early season struggles as they enter this contest ranked above league average in Team Total Hits, On Base Percentage, RBIs, and Total Runs Scored. They field arguably one of the best top of the orders in baseball with Jose Altuve kicking things off as a lethal contact hitter, Kyle Tucker following as an all around batter, and league leading home run contender Yordan Alvaraez being one swing away from taking anyone deep.
This trio will be tested against the Athletics Joey Estes who started his season off on the right foot, maximizing his lone season appearance by finishing the game with an ERA of 1.80, a WHIP of 0.400, five Strikeouts, just two Hits Allowed, and one Earned Run Against. Granted it’s a small sample size, but still an impressive performance nonetheless over the course of five full innings.
As for the Athletics offense, it’s been a year to forget after getting out to a hot start. While 19-25 is still playing above expectations for a club that was projected to be near dead last, their hot start has not been because of their below average offense. Luckily for the Athletics, they face off against the Astros Cristian Javier who has struggled at this point of the season. Javier enters the contest with an ERA of 4.01 and a WHIP of 1.419.

Before our first YRFI gets underway, we target a game being played early in the evening when the New York Mets battle it out against the Philadelphia Phillies in a inter divisional duel. The Phillies are currently in first place in the NL East standings and now get the opportunity to pad their lead against the preseason favorite Atlanta Braves while the Mets look to climb up from the bottom of the board.
The Phillies are in a good position to pad their lead in the standings as they face off against the Mets Jose Quintana who has struggled so far this season. Quintana goes into the contest with an ERA of 5.44 and a WHIP of 1.548 and now has to face off against an elite top of the Phillies order. A unit that ranks top-5 in Team Total Hits, RBIs, Total Runs Scored, and On Base Percentage.
As for the Mets, they will be given a chance to match the Phillies pace of scoring as they also get the opportunity to face a regressing pitcher. Taijuan Walker has yet to find his groove at this point of the season in his three appearances, entering the contest with an ERA of 4.82, a WHIP of 1.339, 15 Total Strikeouts, already 21 Hits Allowed, and 10 Earned Runs Against.
