The Blue Jays are coming off a 2-0 win over the Marlins, and we like the final game in this series to be low scoring as well. The total in this game is set at 7.5, which makes sense based on the pitchers on the mound. Kevin Gausman will take the ball for the Blue Jays against Sandy Alcantara of the Marlins.

Alcantara hasn’t been as dominant this season as we saw in 2022, but he is very good the first time through the order. Since this is interleague play, Toronto isn’t familiar with his pitching, so the bats should be slow in the first few innings.

Gausman is 6-3 with a 3.01 ERA and a 1.13 WHIP. Over 92.2 innings, he has 121 strikeouts with just nine homers allowed. These stats are a perfect combination for a NRFI bet because strikeouts are needed to get out of trouble, and homers can bust NRFI bets at any time.

Gausman has elite strikeout ability, and he keeps the ball in the yard, which makes us very confident in Wednesday’s NRFI. The NRFI has hit in the first two games of the series, and there is no reason to believe it won’t be successful in the finale.

Chicago Cubs vs Pittsburgh Pirates - Kyle Hendricks (RHP) vs Rich Hill (LHP)

Under 0.5 Runs (-125 on FanDuel Sportsbook)

The Cubs and Pirates don’t have the most explosive offenses in baseball, and this makes the NRFI very appealing. Offenses tend to start slow in day games because they played the night before while starting pitchers are fortunate enough to head back to the hotel early. This also gives the NRFI in this matchup a lot of value at -125.

Kyle Hendricks will take the ball for Chicago, and he is 2-2 with a 2.86 ERA and a 1.02 WHIP. Over 28.1 innings, he has allowed 23 hits with just one homer. Hendricks doesn’t rely on strikeouts to win games, but he has been a master locator, and this is a reason to bet on him Wednesday.

Rich Hill will throw for Pittsburgh, and he is 6-6 with a 4.31 and a 1.4 WHIP. These stats aren’t the best, but Hill has a ton of experience on the mound. He knows how to locate and typically starts his outings strong. We expect to see this once again on Wednesday against an average Cubs offense. Another factor going for the NRFI is that the Pirates have lost nine straight contests and have been shut out in three of their past four games.

Arizona Diamondbacks vs Milwaukee Brewers - Zac Gallen (RHP) vs Julio Teheran (RHP)

Under 0.5 Runs Scored in First Inning (-125 on FanDuel Sportsbook)

If you enjoy pitching, you’re going to want to watch the series finale for the Diamondbacks and Brewers. Zac Gallen will take the ball for Arizona, and he is putting together a special season. Gallen is 8-2 with a 2.96 ERA and a 1.13 WHIP. Over 91.1 innings, he has only allowed 84 hits and punched out 100 batters. Gallen keeps the ball in the yard as well as he has given up just five homers in 2023.

Gallen is a great NRFI pitcher because he can win with power and also keeps the ball down in the zone. His ability makes it very tough for opposing batters to execute their game plan when they step into the batter’s box.

Julio Teheran will throw for the Brewers, and he is 2-2 with a 1.78 ERA and a 0.82 WHIP. The wing only has 30.1 innings on the mound, but he has allowed just 21 hits. However, there isn’t a lot of strikeout ability for Teheran, as he has just 20 in his time on the hill. We expect Arizona to get to Teheran over this game, but both pitchers should start strong and yield a NRFI to start the day.
