Our first bet on the first inning totals market for Tuesday is for there to be at least one run scored in the first inning between the Toronto Blue Jays and Baltimore Orioles. We like the full-game over for this game as well, so it only makes sense to bet on some early scoring to take place in this contest. Look for both teams to get off to a good start offensively here, as these top-10 scoring lineups could put a hurting on their opponents from the start.
Toronto should be especially dangerous in the first inning, as the top of their order could get off to a great start against Baltimore’s Dean Kremer. Kremer has an ERA of 4.89 so far this season, and has allowed 12 home runs already on the season. Toronto’s bats should be able to string some early hits together against Kremer to help us cash a first inning over to start our NRFI/YRFI action for the day.
The second game to look for in the first inning totals market is the matchup in Boston between the Colorado Rockies and Boston Red Sox. Here, we like the NRFI option at plus money, as the YRFI option is juiced out all the way to -140 at some sportsbooks. Here, we are happy to go the contrarian route and take both of these teams to fail to score in the opening frame at Fenway Park.
Both of these offenses have been largely quiet of late, and the Red Sox have been especially underwhelming with their bats in recent games. They have scored three or fewer runs in five straight games, including the opening game of this series, which Boston lost 4-3 in 10 innings of play. Boston and the Rockies will both struggle offensively to start this contest, especially after a late night on Monday night.
Finally, look for the Washington Nationals and Houston Astros to combine for at least one first inning run on Tuesday night. The YRFI option is especially appealing given that the Houston Astros are at home. They should be able to score in the bottom of the first inning in this game to set the tone and win a contest that they are heavily favored in against a struggling Nationals squad.
Patrick Corbin is set to start this game for the Nationals, which should mean good things for the top of the Astros order. Corbin is 4-6 on the season with an ERA of 4.89 in his 73.2 innings pitched on the year. Against a lineup led by the likes of Jose Altuve and Yordan Alvarez, Corbin should continue to struggle to the tune of at least one run allowed in the opening frame.
