After seeming like a massive bust last season, Tyler Anderson was able to bounce back. He closed the season by pitching very well and has continued that in 2025. He was beaten up a bit by the Astros last season but will face a very different lineup tonight that owns the second-lowest OPS (.583) in the league.
The Astros will start rookie reliever Ryan Gusto tonight. He has allowed one run over eight innings this season, showing he can handle big league batters. We wouldn’t be willing to bet on him winning, but we love betting on relievers to keep their first inning of work clean.
After a brutal first start of the season, Kumar Rocker bounced back to dominate the Rays last week. The promising young pitcher is not usually someone we look at for NRFI bets, but we’re willing to bet on any pitcher facing a bad Mariners lineup.
Seattle will have one of the best young pitchers in baseball, Bryan Woo. He broke out to go 9-3 with a 2.89 ER and 0.90 WHIP last season. The righty had a 2.47 ERA at home, with batters managing a measly .186 average. The Rangers' lineup has looked good, but don’t expect early fireworks against Woo tonight.
Colorado Rockies vs. San Diego Padres - Chase Dollander vs. Kyle Hart
You won’t find a great price on this one, but that's because it's the safest bet of the weekend. The Rockies will have their top prospect on the mound in Chase Dollander, but he was shelled by the A’s in his debut. The 23-year-old allowed four runs on seven hits over five innings. He’ll be facing another struggling starter in Kyle Hart, who is coming off a start where he allowed five first-inning runs.
Philadelphia Phillies vs. St. Louis Cardinals - Christopher Sanchez vs. Miles Mikolas
Miles Mikolas is quickly approaching the end of his career. The 26-year-old has seen his ERA rise significantly over the previous two seasons, and that trend has continued into 2025. The righty has an 11.25 ERA and 2.00 WHIP. Expect a deep Phillies lineup to dominate the veteran early today.
