Best NRFI Bets Today 2024 10 14 Guardians Alex Cobb

After the Cleveland Guardians squeaked past the red hot Detroit Tigers in the ALDS, the stage is now set for the ALCS with the New York Yankees battling it out against the Guardians in a best of seven series with the winner going to the World Series. Both teams have been two of the best clubs in the AL throughout the regular season, winning their respective division titles while finishing one and two in the AL overall standings.

For more information about the NRFI market and what factors into them being worth a wager, check out our breakdown of Daily No Run First Inning.

When looking to make a wager on a NRFI, it’s important to create an account with as many sportsbooks as you can get in order to line shop the very volatile market. Each sportsbook also has their own unique signup bonus, giving new users a head start with their bankroll to wager with.

FanDuel Sportsbook, for example, is giving new users $300 in bonus bets after creating an account and winning their first bet of at least $5. Be sure to wager the $5 on a heavy favorite or alt line immediately after signing up, maximizing your chances of winning and collecting the $300 in bonus bets.

Game One: Cleveland Guardians vs. New York Yankees - Alex Cobb vs. Carlos Rodon (7:37 PM, EST)

Under 0.5 Run (-110) at FanDuel

While the New York Yankees and the Cleveland Guardians have been the two best teams in the AL this year, they paced the rest of the league for vastly different reasons. Starting with the Yankees, a majority of their success has stemmed from their top heavy offense, fielding the likes of Aaron Judge who is projected to win the AL MVP award and Juan Soto who is a star talent in his own right. Factor in Giancarlo Stanton’s home run power and the Yankees are capable of putting up runs in a flash.

With their production in the top of their order, the Yankees offense has been one of the best units in the league as they currently rank well above league average in Team Total Hits, RBIs, Total Runs Scored, and On Base Percentage. Even when they were matched up against the Kansas City Royals vaunted pitching staff in the ALDS, the Yankees offense managed to generate at least three runs per game in each game of the series.

Unfortunately for the Yankees, their top of the order is tasked with another tough matchup as they are set to face off against the Guardians Alex Cobb. Cobb has been dominant in his minimal appearances so far this season, taking the mound averaging less than one Hit Against per Inning Pitched while generating an ERA of 2.76, a WHIP of 1.041, and a FIP of 3.29. Cobb is also supported by one of the best defenses in the league as the Guardians currently rank third overall in Defensive Efficiency.

As for who the Yankees will roll out to match the Guardians defensive output, Carlos Rodon gets the starting nod for game one of the ALCS. While not nearly as successful as Cobb in terms of WHIP, Rodon has excelled at avoiding contact by averaging over one Strikeout and less than one Hit Against per Inning Pitched. Rodon also gets the benefit of throwing against a regressing Guardians offense as Cleveland enters the contest ranked below league average in Team Total Hits and On Base Percentage.
