Tuesday includes two MLB matchups that should be great games with limited runs. We are taking the NRFI in both games, as the starting pitchers should present a challenging task for the offenses.
Aaron Nola and the Phillies will play Sean Manaea and the Mets in the first game on Tuesday. The nightcap will feature Walker Buehler and the Dodgers against Michael King and the Padres.
We are taking both of these wagers on bet365, one of the best sportsbooks for MLB betting. As a special offer, bet365 gives new users a $1,000 safety net bet or $200 in bonus bets. Claim this exclusive deal by applying our promo code WSN365 when signing up for bet365 account.
The Phillies, champs of the NL East, take on a familiar opponent for Game 3 of the NLDS. Philadelphia won this division by six games over the Mets with a record of 95-67. New York was 89-73 in the regular season, and they are looking to take a series lead in this game at home.
Aaron Nola was 14-8 with a 3.57 ERA in 2024. He struck out 197 batters in 199.1 innings and maintained a WHIP of 1.20. Nola has great pitch ability and can keep runs off the scoreboard in this matchup.
Sean Manaea had a great season in New York, going 12-6 with an ERA of 3.47. He fanned 184 batters in 181.2 innings and has a 1.08 WHIP. Manaea does a great job of pitching to contact and limiting walks, which is essential when taking an NRFI wager.
So far in this series, the NRFI is 1-1, as most of the runs have been coming in the later innings. The starting pitching has been great, and we expect these pitchers to continue this trend.
Both offenses have posted spectacular seasons, but in the playoffs, great pitching is needed to win games, and this matchup has that with Nola and Manaea.
Expect both starters to pound the strike zone and have a great first inning to cash this NRFI wager.

The second NRFI we are taking features a pair of NL West clubs that had great seasons in 2024. Los Angeles won this division, going 98-64, with San Diego right behind them in the standings.
The Padres were 93-69 in the regular season and have a lot of momentum after a big win in NLDS Game 2.
The Dodgers are starting Walker Buehler who did not have the best season in 2024, but he can shine in this start. He has a great pitching arsenal that will make it difficult for the Padres offense.
San Diego is going with Michael King, who was spectacular in his first playoff start in 2024. He went seven innings, allowing no runs on five hits while striking out 12 batters. In the regular season, King had 201 strikeouts in 173.2 innings, and we expect him to continue this dominance on Tuesday.
Both offenses rank in the top four in team batting average, with San Diego being number one, hitting .263. Los Angeles is hitting .257, but pitchers usually make fewer mistakes in the playoffs, so each group can be tamed.
It can be difficult to contain players like Shohei Ohtani, Fernando Tatis, and others in this series, but both starters are prepared for this moment, and we expect them to dominate.
Look for Buehler and King to utilize their overpowering fastball to get ahead in the count and mix in their secondary pitches to confuse the offenses at the plate on Tuesday.
