Best NRFI Bets Today 2024 09 30 Braves Spencer Schwellenbach

It’s win and you’re in for the New York Mets and Atlanta Braves as both clubs are just one win away from securing a spot in the playoffs. That brings plenty of intrigue for Monday’s double header between the two NL East division rivals, especially when a pair of productive arms are set to take the mound for game one in an attempt to limit each other's offensive production.

For more information about the NRFI market and what factors into them being worth a wager, check out our breakdown of Daily No Run First Inning.

When looking to make a wager on a NRFI, it’s important to have as many sportsbooks as you can get in order to line shop the volatile market. Each sportsbook also has their own unique signup bonus, giving new users a head start to their bankroll to wager with. Game One: New York Mets vs. Philadelphia Phillies - Tylor Megill vs. Spencer Schwellenbach (1:10 PM, EST)

Under 0.5 Run (-130) at FanDuel

With both teams' playoff hopes on the line, the New York Mets and Atlanta Braves are set to roll out a pair of productive pitchers for game one of Monday’s double header in a desperate attempt to secure one of the two wildcard spots. Each team just needs one win in order to make the playoffs, while a sweep would result in the loser being left out as the Arizona Diamondbacks would take their place.

Should the Braves want to avoid missing out on the playoffs after entering the year with the second shortest odds to win the World Series, then Spencer Schwellenbach must neutralize the Mets red hot bats in order to give his own regressing offense a chance to stay within scoring pace. Especially when consistent offensive production has been practically non-existent for Atlanta, entering the contest ranked below league average in Team Total Hits, RBIs, Total Runs Scored, and On Base Percentage.

Fortunately for the Braves, Spencer Schwellenbach has shown he can do just that as he has excelled at avoiding contact and keeping opposing runners off the bases. In 20 starts this season, Schwellenbach takes the mound with a WHIP of 1.071 and FIP of 3.38 while averaging less than one Hit Against per Inning Pitched. His individual production is especially vital in this contest as the Braves defense as a whole has regressed down to 23rd overall in Defensive Efficiency.

On the other side of the field, the Mets are set to roll out Tylor Megill who has flirted with danger in his 2024 campaign. While Megill does possess an alarmingly high WHIP of 1.272, the Mets pitcher has managed to limit the damage done as his ERA of 3.98 and FIP of 3.36 indicates. To help Megill’s chances of shutting down the Braves top of their order, he is surrounded by a productive cast of defenders as the Mets back end ranks well above league average in Defensive Efficiency.
