Hunter Greene takes the mound for the Reds on Thursday and he has not allowed a run in his last three starts. We are taking the NRFI in this game as he squares off against Kyle Tyler and the Marlins.

Cincinnati comes into this game at 55-58, sitting in fourth place in the NL Central. Miami is 42-72 in last place in the NL East. The Reds still have a lot to play for in 2024, as they are just 5.5 games back in the Wild Card race.

Greene takes the mound for Cincinnati, and he is 8-4 with a 2.83 ERA. He has fanned 149 batters in 130.1 innings and has a 1.02 WHIP. 

In Greene’s last three starts, he has not allowed a run in 20 innings, and has struck out 23 in this span. 

The Marlins are going with Tyler who is 0-2 with a 5.27 ERA. He has 22 strikeouts in 27.1 innings and has a 1.76 WHIP. 

His numbers are not as bad as they appear for Tyler due to the limited run support he gets from a bad Miami team. 

The Reds are hitting .230 as a team in 2024, which is the third worst in baseball. Elly De La Cruz leads the club, hitting .268 along with 20 home runs and 50 RBIs. 

The Marlins have also struggled on offense this season hitting .237 as a team which is the 20th best in the league. Jesus Sanchez has provided the only offensive support for Miami in 2024, and he is still struggling hitting .239 with 13 home runs. 

With both offenses struggling tremendously, these starting pitchers shouldn’t have a problem keeping runs off the board in this matchup. We expect both pitchers to have an easy first inning to cash our NRFI bet.

Best NRFI Bets Today: Orioles vs. Blue Jays (7:10 PM, EST)

Our second NRFI features Dean Kremer and the Orioles against Kevin Gausman and the Blue Jays. Baltimore is 67-47 trailing New York by half of a game in the AL East. Toronto is 52-61 and in last place in the division. 

Kremer comes into this game at 4-8 with a 4.39 ERA. In 80 innings he has struck out 75 batters,  and has a 1.25 WHIP. In his last three starts, he has allowed eight runs in 16.1 innings while striking out 11. 

Gausman has not had the season he has wanted in 2024, but the pitch arsenal is top-notch. He is 9-8 with a 4.56 ERA. Gausman has struck out 119 batters in 124.1 innings and has a 1.30 WHIP. 

It can be scary taking a NRFI in any Orioles game because of their super-power on offense. They are hitting .255 as a team and have been led by Gunnar Henderson who is hitting .290 with 29 home runs. 

Gausman has pitched in high-leverage moments before throughout his career, and he is going to be tested by Baltimore. We expect him to come through in this big game and limit the runs early.
