Best NRFI Bets Today: Mariners vs. Red Sox Highlights Our Favorite NRFI On Tuesday

Best NRFI Bets Today: Yankees vs. Phillies  (6:40 PM, EST)

The first NRFI we are taking on Tuesday’s slate is in a matchup between the Yankees and Phillies. New York is 62-45 trailing Baltimore by a game and a half in the AL East. Philadelphia is 65-40 with an 8.5 game lead in the NL East. 

Gerrit Cole takes the ball for the Yankees who is 3-2 with a 5.40 ERA. He has struck out 38 batters in 35 innings and has a WHIP of 1.46.

Cole is coming off a rough start against the Mets, but in the two starts prior, he went 12 innings allowing just two runs while striking out 15.

The Phillies are going with Aaron Nola who is 11-4 with a 3.44 ERA. He has been one of the best pitchers in baseball in 2024 as he has struck out 126 batters in 130.2 innings. Nola is coming off a dominant start against Minnesota going six innings allowing one run on six hits. 

The Yankees are hitting .250 as a team in 2024. Aaron Judge leads the team hitting .314 to go with 37 home runs and 96 RBIs. He is the favorite to win the AL MVP award at -1000 on FanDuel sportsbook. 

The Phillies are hitting .256 which is the fourth best in 2024. They have been led by Alec Bohm who is hitting .295 along with 71 RBIs. Bryce Harper has also contributed, batting .285 with 24 home runs. 

Despite these great offenses, we expect Cole and Nola to slow the hitters down to cash our first NRFI.

Best NRFI Bets Today: Mariners vs. Red Sox (7:10 PM, EST)

The second NRFI we are taking is in the Mariners vs. Red Sox game. This matchup features Luis Castillo and James Paxton who will make his debut with Boston in 2024 after being traded from the Dodgers. 

Seattle is 56-51 tied with Houston for first place in the AL West. Boston is 55-49 in third place in the AL East. 

Castillo comes into this game at 8-10 with a 3.38 ERA. He has a 1.16 WHIP and has fanned 126 batters in 130.1 innings. Castillo is coming off a six inning performance allowing no runs on five hits while striking out seven against the Angels. 

Paxton finds himself back in Boston where he pitched in 2023. He comes into this matchup with a 8-2 record and a 4.43 ERA. He has struck out 64 batters in 89.1 innings and has a 1.46 WHIP. 

The Mariners are hitting .218 as a team which is tied for the worst team batting average in 2024. Despite the offensive struggles, Seattle has relied on their pitching staff which has been outstanding this season. The Mariners have a team ERA of 3.44 which is the best in the league.

The Red Sox have been impressive on offense this season hitting .258 as a team which is the third best in baseball. Rafael Devers leads the team, hitting .297 with 23 home runs and 64 RBIs. 

We expect Castillo and Paxton to limit the offenses in this game and for the bats to start slow. Both pitchers have great strikeout ability and find themselves getting out of big innings, which is why we are taking this NRFI on Tuesday.
