On Thursday, Chris Sale takes the mound for the Braves against Luis Severino and the Mets. Both starting pitchers have been dominant this season which is why we are taking the NRFI.
The second NRFI we are focusing on is in the Rays vs. Blue Jays matchup. This game features Taj Bradley and Chris Bassitt. Both offenses have struggled in 2024 and we expect that same result on Thursday.

Tampa Bay is 51-51 in fourth place in the AL East. Toronto is 46-55 in last place in this division trailing the Rays by 4.5 games. Both teams have some work to do in order to make the playoffs in 2024.
Taj Bradley takes the mound for the Rays who is 5-4 with a 2.63 ERA. He has fanned 90 batters in 75.1 innings and has a 1.05 WHIP. In Bradley’s last 20 innings, he has allowed just one run on 11 hits and has struck out 18 batters.
The Blue Jays are going with Chris Bassitt who is 8-8 with a 3.71 ERA. He has 106 strikeouts in 114 innings and has a WHIP of 1.42.
Both offenses in this game have struggled tremendously in 2024. Tampa Bay is hitting .234 as a team which is the seventh worst in the league. Randy Arozarena is hitting just .213 after a great season in 2023.
Toronto is batting .236 as a team which also ranks at the bottom of the league. Outside of Vladimir Guerrero, Toronto’s offense has been non-existent. Bo Bichette is hitting just .223 after having a terrific season in 2023, hitting .306.
We expect the offensive struggles to continue in this matchup and for both starting pitchers to dominate on Thursday.

The second NRFI we are taking on Thursday is in the Braves and Mets game. Atlanta is 54-46 in second place in the NL East.
They trail the Phillies by nine games and currently hold a Wild Card spot. New York is 52-48 in third place in this division trailing Atlanta by two games.
Chris Sale takes the mound for the Braves at 13-3 with a 2.70 ERA. He is currently the betting favorite to win the NL Cy Young award at +145 on FanDuel Sportsbook. Sale has struck out 140 batters in 110 innings in 2024.
The Mets are going with Luis Severino who is 7-3 with a 3.58 ERA. He has struck out 88 batters in 115.2 innings and has a 1.18 WHIP. Severino is coming off a six-inning performance allowing no runs on two hits.
Both pitchers have been dominant in 2024 and have gotten most of their outs by strikeouts. Anytime there is a matchup involving two pitchers with big time strikeout ability, it’s a good idea to take the NRFI.
The Braves are hitting .240 as a team which is the 17th best in the league. Marcell Ozuna leads the team in average hitting .306 with 28 home runs.
The Mets are hitting .249 as a club and have been led by Francisco Lindor who is hitting .256 with 19 home runs and 55 RBIs.
We expect both starting pitchers to dominate these offenses like they have been doing all season to cash our NRFI bet.
