The first NRFI we're taking is in the Blue Jays vs. Giants game. Toronto is 41-50 in last place in the AL East. San Francisco is 45-47 trailing the Dodgers by ten games in the NL West.

The Blue Jays are going with Kevin Gausman who is 6-8 with a 4.64 ERA. The numbers are not the greatest, but we know Gausman has the pitch arsenal to dominate hitters. He has 101 strikeouts in 97 innings and a WHIP of 1.34. 

Jordan Hicks gets the ball for the Giants who is 4-5 with a 3.47 ERA. He has taken over the starting rotation role quite nicely and has found himself in the right spot in San Francisco. He has fanned 82 batters in 90.2 innings. 

Toronto is having a disappointing season in 2024 mainly because of their offensive struggles. They are hitting .233 as a team which is the ninth worst in baseball.

San Francisco has been the opposite as they are hitting .244 as a team which is the 14th best. They have been led by Matt Chapman who is batting .241 with 42 RBIs. 

Gausman has elite pitch ability and is capable of shutting down the Giants offense.

We expect both pitchers to take the offenses out in this matchup to cash our first NRFI.

Best NRFI Bets Today: Cubs vs. Orioles (6:35 PM, EST)

1st Inning Under 0.5 Runs (-110) at FanDuel

The second NRFI we’re taking features Justin Steele and Albert Suarez. The Cubs are 43-49 in last place in the NL Central. The Orioles are 57-34 leading the AL East by three games over the Yankees.

Justin Steele comes into this game at 1-3 with a 2.95 ERA. He has struck out 77 batters in 79.1 innings and has a 1.00 WHIP. Steele is coming off a nine-inning performance allowing just one run on two hits against the Angels. 

Baltimore is going with Albert Suarez who is 5-2 with a 2.48 ERA. He has 51 strikeouts in 65.1 innings and has a WHIP of 1.21. In his last three starts, he has gone 17 innings allowing seven runs while striking out 11. 

The Orioles have been one of the best teams in baseball primarily because of their offense. They are hitting .254 as a team which is the seventh best in 2024. Baltimore has gotten most of their production from Gunnar Henderson who leads the team in average, home runs, and RBIs. 

The Cubs have struggled tremendously on offense this season as they are hitting .230 as a team which is the fifth worst. Chicago is falling out of the NL Central because of their lack of run support for their starting pitching. 

Steele doesn't have the numbers to show it in 2024, but he had an All-Star-type season in 2023 and was one of the best pitchers in baseball. We expect him to limit the Baltimore offense on Thursday.

Both bullpens are rested ahead of this matchup, and we expect this total to go under.
