Best NRFI Bets Today: Athletics vs. Red Sox (7:10 PM, EST)

1st Inning Under 0.5 Runs (+110) at FanDuel

For our first NRFI, we’re focusing on a matchup between Oakland and Boston. The Athletics are 34-58 in last place in the AL West. Boston has been much better as they are 49-40 trailing the Orioles by 7.5 games in the AL East

Joey Estes will take the mound for Oakland fresh off his complete game shutout against the Angels. He is 3-3 with a 4.39 ERA in 2024. Estes has a WHIP of 1.12 and has struck out 43 batters in 55.1 innings.

Boston is going with Brayan Bello who is 8-5 with a 5.19 ERA. He is coming off a 6.2 inning performance against Miami allowing one run on seven hits.

Bello is looking to bounce back against Oakland after allowing four runs in five innings with two home runs back in April.

The Athletics are 28th in the league in team batting average at .223. The Red Sox are hitting .251 which is the ninth best.

We expect both offenses to start slow in this game. Estes is throwing great at the right time and is capable of shutting down Boston's offense for an inning.

This NRFI is plus odds due to the fact we have a high-powered offense against a struggling team in the Athletics. We still think these pitchers will keep the ball in the park and minimize the runs in this game.

Best NRFI Bets Today: Braves vs. Diamondbacks (9:40 PM, EST)

1st Inning Under 0.5 Runs (-125) at FanDuel

Our second NRFI consists of two starting pitchers who have dominated the league. The Braves are 49-39 in second place in the NL East trailing the Phillies by eight games.

The Diamondbacks are 45-45 in third place in the NL West. You can get Atlanta to win their division at +390, while Arizona is at +10000 on FanDuel to win the NL West..

Chris Sale toes the rubber for the Braves with an 11-3 and a 2.71 ERA. He has 127 strikeouts in 99.2 innings, the sixth most in 2024.

He has a 0.91 WHIP and has only allowed three runs in his last 18 innings. In this span, he struck out 28 batters and only walked six.

The Diamondbacks are going with Zac Gallen who is 6-4 with a 3.06 ERA. He has fanned 71 batters in 67.2 innings and has a WHIP of 1.11.

Gallen has been one of the best pitchers in the league over the past few seasons due to his pitch-to-contact ability and getting ahead in the count.

Both starting pitchers have shown the ability to record most of their outs to the strikeout which is why they can get out of big innings.

Both teams have some serious offensive weapons which is why they each rank in the top 17 in team batting average.

Atlanta has gotten most of its production from Marcell Ozuna who is hitting .295 with 23 home runs and 72 RBIs. Christian Walker has been the leader for Arizona hitting .268 along with 22 home runs and 64 RBIs.

Despite the offensive power these teams have, we expect Sale and Gallen to dominate the strike zone and limit the runs in this game. Look for both pitchers to shut down the offenses in the first inning to cash this NRFI bet.
