Best NRFI Bets Today 2024 07 01 Nationals MacKenzie Gore

With just three games scheduled for Monday’s slate, we focus on only one NRFI for our daily series with the New York Mets and Washington Nationals set to face off against a pair of productive arms. The New York Mets offense have found some life after a rough start to the season, but are now poised to cool off against the Nationals MacKenzie Gore who has played a key role to their above league average marks in Team Total Pitching ERA. For more information about the NRFI market and what factors into them being worth a wager, check out our breakdown of Daily No Run First Inning.

When looking to make a wager on a NRFI, it’s vital to have as many sportsbooks as you can get in order to line shop the very volatile market. Each sportsbook also has their own unique signup bonus, giving new users a boost to their bankroll to wager with during the MLB season. The FanDuel Sportsbook for example is giving new users $150 in bonus bets for simply creating an account and winning their first bet of at least $5 wagered. Be sure to wager the $5 on a heavy favorite or alt line immediately after signing up, maximizing your chances of winning and collecting the $150 in bonus bets.

New York Mets vs. Washington Nationals - David Peterson vs. MacKenzie Gore (6:45 PM, EST)

Under 0.5 Run (-118) at FanDuel

It’s a NL East divisional showdown between the New York Mets and Washington Nationals as both teams look to salvage their slow start to the season and make a second half push for a highly coveted wild card spot. Especially with the Philadelphia Phillies having a commanding lead for first place in the division while the Atlanta Braves are comfortably ahead of both units for a wildcard spot as well.

While the Mets are on pace per their preseason projections, the Washington Nationals success has been a pleasant surprise. Projected to be near the bottom of the barrel along the likes of the Chicago White Sox and Colorado Rockies, the Nationals have kicked aside the projections and continue to keep their name in the ring for a potential playoff berth.

While their success is worth noting, the haunting reality for Washington is that negative regression looms large over the ball club. Especially on the offensive end as that side of the field has continued to struggle. Coming into Monday’s contest against the Mets, the Nationals offense ranks well below league average in Team Total Hits, RBIs, Total Runs Scored, and On Base Percentage.

That bodes well for the NRFI as the Mets David Peterson has had a turbulent start to his 2024 campaign. He’s flirted with disaster as he rolls into the contest with a WHIP of 1.481, but has managed to minimize the scoring with a ERA of 3.67. With the Nationals offense playing as anemic as possible, that thwarts off the looming regression over Peterson in his attempt to limit scoring opportunities early in the contest.

As for the Mets, their resurging offense is poised to revert back to their struggles against the Nationals MacKenzie Gore who generates Whiffs at a high rate. When in possession of his command and not sporadically walking opposing batters, Gore is capable of burning past the best of them with 99 Total Strikeouts in 16 games played. His FIP of 3.13 also strengthens the idea of positive regression looming large, giving us assurance to bypass his WHIP of 1.388.
