There are a couple of good pitching matchups on Thursday in Major League Baseball which are perfect for NRFI betting. 

The first NRFI is in the Seattle and Cleveland game. This matchup consists of Luis Castillo facing Logan Allen, and you can get this NRFI at -125.

Best NRFI Bets Today: Mariners vs. Guardians (1:10 PM, EST)

The Mariners take on the Guardians in a matchup featuring Luis Castillo and Logan Allen. Seattle is 44-31 leading the AL West by ten games. The Mariners are currently -185 to win the division. Cleveland is 44-26 in first place in the AL Central. The Guardians are -135 to to win the division with Minnesota right behind them. 

Seattle is starting Castillo who is 6-7 with a 3.32 ERA. In his last three starts, he has gone 18 innings allowing seven runs on 12 hits. Castillo has a WHIP of 1.14 and is looking to stay hot off a spectacular performance against the Rangers. 

Cleveland is going with Allen who is 7-3 with a 5.30 ERA. He has 57 strikeouts in 69.2 innings and has a 1.49 WHIP. Allen has allowed three earned runs in his last two starts against Toronto and Miami. 

The primary thing that stands out with Castillo is his strikeout percentage and his ability to get out of jams. His ERA is slightly higher than expected, but the strikeout numbers are off the charts.

Allen has already faced this Mariners lineup once this season and only allowed just four hits. We expect both pitchers to dominate the offenses and cash our NRFI wager in this matchup.

The Royals take on the Athletics in Oakland to wrap up this series. Kansas City is 41-33 in third place in the AL Central. This division is going to come down to the last week of the season as three teams are within five games of each other. The Athletics are 27-48 trailing the Mariners by 17 games in the AL West. 

Kansas City is starting Seth Lugo who is 10-2 with a 2.40 ERA. He has struck out 79 batters in 97.1 innings and has a WHIP of 1.05. 

Coming into the 2024 season, the Royals thought they were going to be led by left-handed pitcher Cole Ragans, but it has been Lugo who has been the most dominant arm in the clubhouse. 

Oakland is going with Mitch Spence who is 4-3 with a 3.95 ERA. He has 43 strikeouts in 57 innings.

Spence may not have the best numbers we look for when taking a NRFI but he doesn’t walk hitters. He has only walked 14 batters in 2024, which is exactly why we like him in this spot. 

In their last three games, the Royals are hitting .177 as a team. Their lineup has been very impressive, but this is a good spot to catch them in a slump.

The Athletics are hitting .221 as a team which is 29th in the MLB. 

Look for Lugo and Spence to allow minimal runs in this game and to cash our NRFI bet.
