Best NRFI Bets Today 2024 06 18 Mets Luis Severino

On Tuesday night, Luis Severino and Michael Lorenzen will square off in Arlington. These two pitchers have been great in June and we expect nothing to change in this matchup.

The second NRFI bet we’re placing is in the Giants and Cubs game. This matchup features Logan Webb and Justin Steele.

Best NRFI Bets Today: Mets vs. Rangers (8:05 PM, EST)

1st Inning Under 0.5 Runs (-104) at FanDuel

The Mets take on the Rangers in a matchup between two teams with similar records. New York is 33-37 in fourth place in the NL East. The Rangers are 33-38 trailing the Mariners by 8.5 games in the AL West.

The Mets are starting Luis Severino who is 4-2 with a 3.12 ERA. He has struck out 60 batters in 78 innings and has a 1.18 WHIP.

In his last three starts, he has gone 19.1 innings allowing six earned runs and four walks.

The Rangers are going with Michael Lorenzen who is 4-3 with a 2.86 ERA. He has 47 strikeouts in 66 innings. Lorenzen is coming off a seven-inning performance allowing one run on four hits.

Lorenzen is 2-0 in June with a 1.53 ERA. We expect him to stay hot and go deep into this game. Severino is 1-0 with a 1.29 ERA in June even though opponents are hitting .286 against him this season.

Anytime we see a pitcher who has a solid record and ERA with a bad opponent's batting average it generally tells us the pitcher gets in trouble and uses his strikeout ability to get out of big innings. That is exactly what we have in this matchup with Severino.

New York is 15th in the league in team batting average hitting .242. Texas is 18th hitting .237 as a team in 2024.

Look for both of these pitchers to have great starts and allow no runs in the first inning to cash our wager.

Best NRFI Bets Today: Giants vs. Cubs (8:05 PM, EST)

1st Inning Under 0.5 Runs (-115) at FanDuel

The Giants take on the Cubs at Wrigley Field in Chicago. San Francisco is 35-37 in fourth place in the NL West. Chicago is 34-38 trailing Milwaukee by 8.5 games in the NL Central.

The Giants are starting Logan Webb who is 6-5 with a 3.02 ERA. He has 78 strikeouts in 92.1 innings and a WHIP of 1.20. In his last three starts, he has gone 20 innings allowing nine runs with 17 strikeouts.

Webb has struggled in 2024 but is capable of turning it around and being the pitcher we have seen the last few years.

The Cubs are going with Justin Steele who is 0-3 with a 3.22 ERA. He has struck out 48 batters in 50.1 innings. He is coming off a six-inning start where he allowed no runs on three hits.

Steele’s numbers in 2024 are not as good as last year due to the limited amount of run support.

The Giants are 12th in the MLB in team batting average at .248. The Cubs are 27th hitting .226 which is way down from last year.

We expect Logan Webb to shut down this Cubs lineup and for Steele to go deep into this game as he has gone at least six innings in his last two starts.

In yesterday's matchup between these teams, the NRFI cashed with ease. There was not a run scored in this game until the 4th inning and we expect the same result in this game.
