We have a couple of great NRFI on the board today. The first comes from an NL East battle between the Philadelphia Phillies and New York Mets. The other involved a matchup between the Mariners and Royals.
We will share why we are betting on NRFI for both games. We’ll use odds from FanDuel Sportsbook, which offers new players a welcome bonus of $200 in Bonus Bets when they sign up and make an initial winning wager of $5+.

This London matchup between division rivals features the top pitching matchup of the day. The Phillies will have Ranger Suarez (9-1, 1.70 ERA) back on the mound after a comebacker hit him in his last start. The lefty has been the best pitcher in baseball this season, and his confidence has spiked. That has led to dominating starts against great teams, and he fared well against the Mets in his last season. While the Mets scored a first-inning run, it was unearned.
We like Suarez to put forward another great effort against the Mets today despite their improved play. New York’s lineup did a lot of damage in a sweep of the Nationals, but now they’ll be up against the top team in the NL that will have their ace on the mound.
The Mets will be sending veteran Sean Manaea (3-2, 3.63 ERA) out to the mound against the Phillies. The 32-year-old has bounced back in 2024, serving as one of the few bright spots for the team. While he is coming off his worst start of the season, he will be facing a Phillies team he was fantastic against last month. Manaea allowed one run on four hits and a walk over six innings. Combine that with the fact that he has allowed a first-inning run just once this season, and you can see why we love this bet.

These are two teams heading in very different directions, but we expect both to have a quiet start to this afternoon’s game. One reason is Mariners’ ace Luis Castillo (5-6, 2.99 ERA, 1.15 WHIP). The 31-year-old veteran had a tough start to the season but has not allowed more than two earned runs since April 8. He went at least six innings in all but one of those starts, showing just how well Castillo has been pitching.
Castillo is coming off one of his best starts of the year. He held the Angels scoreless on two hits over seven innings. The Angels lineup is bad, but Castillo has dominated far better opponents last month, including the Astros, Yankees, and Orioles. The Royals are good but not on the same level as those three teams.
The Royals will have young Alec Marsh (4-3, 3.76 ERA) making the start today. The 26-year-old is coming off two rough starts where he allowed five runs, but almost all of that damage came later into games. In fact, the first-inning run he allowed in his last start was just the second time he had done so this season.
The Mariners have been swinging their bats much better over the last few weeks, but they can’t maintain this level of consistency. Opponents are batting just .226 against Marsh for the first time through the lineup this season, which makes a quiet start to the game very likely.
