After targeting the Friday night NRFI between the Toronto Blue Jays and Detroit Tigers, we go back to the well with two more productive pitchers set to face off against two underwhelming offenses. We then turn our sights towards the next Saturday afternoon matchup between the San Francisco Giants and New York Mets as both offenses are poised to struggle out of the gate in a pitchers duel between Jordan Hicks and Luis Severino. For more information about the NRFI market and what factors into them being worth a wager, check out our breakdown of Daily No Run First Inning.
When making a wager on an NRFI, it’s vital to have as many sportsbooks as you can get in order to line shop for the volatile market. Each sportsbook has their own unique signup bonus, giving new users a boost to their bankroll to bet with during the middle of the MLB season. FanDuel Sportsbook for example is giving new users $150 in bonus bets for simply creating an account and winning their first bet of at least $5 wagered. After targeting the first game of the series between the Toronto Blue Jays and Detroit Tigers, we are going back to the well with two more productive pitchers taking the mound. Jose Berrios for the Blue Jays has been a proven starting pitcher for their rotation while Reese Olson has started to build some momentum as a go-to option behind AL Cy Young award front-runner Tarik Skubal.
Olson will be in a great position to continue to build on his momentum as the Blue Jays offense has mightily struggled at this point of the season. An oddity for a unit that possesses the likes of Bo Bichette and Vladimir Guerrero Jr, but both have yet to get into a groove and have disrupted the teams’ production down the lineup. As a whole, the Blue Jays enter the contest ranked below league average in Team Total Hits, RBIs, Total Runs Scored, and On Base Percentage.
The Blue Jays' offensive woes have gotten so bad to the point they have broken up their top trio and scattered them throughout the lineup. That bodes well for the NRFI as the Blue Jays top of the order is far less daunting with Bichette and Springer out of the top three. Olson should have no issue with knocking down all three batters as he comes into the contest with an ERA of 2.16 and a WHIP of 1.060.
Speaking of underwhelming offenses, this year has been just as cruel for the Tigers' young offense as they also rank well below league average in Team Total Hits, RBIs, Total Runs Scored, and On Base Percentage. Their struggles are poised to continue against the Blue Jays' proven starter Jose Berries as he comes into the matchup with an ERA of 2.98 and a WHIP of 1.110.

It’s been a roller coaster of a season for the Giants as they started out the year near the bottom of the NL West standings, but are now just one game back from second. As for the Mets, it’s been a year to forget as they have dropped to fourth in the NL East and are 15 games back from the Philadelphia Phillies.
Even this early in the season, both teams are better off setting their sights toward a wildcard spot as their division title hopes look bleak. That makes this game even more interesting, especially as it shapes up to be a defensive pitching duel to the benefit of the NRFI. Jordan Hicks for the Giants has been especially great this early in the year, coming into the contest with an ERA of 2.38, a WHIP of 1.113, and just 14 Earned Runs Against.
As for the Mets, they trot out Luis Severino who is tasked with shutting down the surging Giants offense. Once ranked well below league average across most offensive metrics, the Giants have started to build some momentum and are now above league average in Team Total Hits, RBIs, Runs Scored, and On Base Percentage. Severino is more than capable of halting the Giants' production, coming into the contest with an ERA of 3.48 and a WHIP of 1.219.
