Tonight is a big night in the MLB as it is also going to be a big night for several opportunities for the NRFI bets to be successful. There are many games that have the potential to be early shutouts due to the stellar pitching matchups or the efficiency of the fielding teams.

The second and final game of the short series between the Baltimore Orioles (23-12) at the Washington Nationals (18-17) continues tonight after a surprising game one. The Nationals hosted a dangerous Orioles team to hold them to their second shutout loss this season with a 3-0 score.
Washington got on the board for the first time in the second inning and didn’t score until the seventh inning. Tuesday night was one of the worst batting performances for the Orioles all season as they only accounted for three hits throughout the game.
This Wednesday night has the potential to be another low-scoring game based on the pitchers set to start for both teams. These pitchers have solid starts to their respective seasons played.
Baltimore is set to start Kyle Bradish, who has only pitched 4.1 innings in the 7-2 win over the New York Yankees on May 2. Bradish only allowed four hits, one run coming from the fourth inning, and an ERA of 1.93 in the win over the Yankees. In terms of keeping of the Nationals suppressed early in the game, it shouldn’t be too difficult as Washington ranks last in the league in runs accounted for (0.26).
The Nationals are going with 24-year-old left-handed pitcher Mitchell Parker, who has accounted for a season ERA of 2.53 in the four games played. There is some concern for Parker going against the efficient batters of the Orioles. He has allowed two runs in two different games played. The Orioles are tied for 19th in the league in runs accounted for in the first inning (0.43).
Bet on Under 0.5 Runs (-105) at DraftKings
Potentially the biggest game of the night is set as the Atlanta Braves (21-12) host the Boston Red Sox (19-17) for the second and final game of the series. Just as anticipated, the pitching and the fielding for the Braves and the Red Sox were the stars of the game on Tuesday night as Atlanta took a 4-2 win. There were only three total innings where there were runs accounted for with the 1st set of runs coming in the third inning.
This game has the potential to be another great opportunity for a great defensive performance, and for the NRFI bet to succeed once again. This will be helped by the great pitching matchup set for tonight by both teams.
The Red Sox will be starting Nick Pivetta, who is coming off the 15-IL list for Boston. In two games played this season, Pivetta has allowed only eight hits, one run, and an ERA of 0.82. He allowed one run all season long on March 29 in the 1-0 road loss to the Seattle Mariners with that run coming in the sixth inning.
He will be taking on a Braves offense that has been significantly worse this season in accounting for runs in the first inning compared to last year. The Braves this year are ranked 21st in the league in runs accounted for in the first game with an average of 0.42.
The Braves will be starting 35-year-old left-handed pitcher Chris Sale, who has been stellar this season while being forced to step up due to injuries in the pitching rotation. In six games played this season, Sale has allowed only fourteen runs and a season ERA of 3.44. He has, however, allowed runs in the first inning in four games played this season.
Sale's early performance will be the biggest test for the NRFI bet as the Red Sox rank 9th in the league in runs allowed in the first inning (0.61).
