There isn’t much Cy Young caliber pitching talent on the mound Thursday. However, this doesn’t mean we can’t find some profitable NRFI wagers. There are plenty of games to choose from, with the potential for no runs in the first inning.
The best NRFI value on the slate is in the Rockies vs. Marlins matchup. We also believe in both pitchers in the Nationals vs. Rangers game, so we are also leaning on the NRFI.

The Colorado Rockies and Miami Marlins could be better on offense. Colorado has slightly better numbers than the Marlins, but they should, considering they play at altitude. However, if you were looking at the Rockies' numbers, you would be surprised to see they had help from the air.
The team is batting .244 as a team, but they only have a .307 OBP. The team doesn’t take great at-bats, which is apparent because their OBP should be higher with a .244 average. The Marlins offense has scored one less run than Colorado, and they have an even worse team OBP at .278.
Miami has one of the least efficient offenses in baseball, which is why they’re 4-15 at home this season. The pitchers in this game aren’t dominant, but maneuvering these two lineups doesn’t take much.
Peter Lambert will pitch for Colorado. He is 2-1 with a 4.67 ERA and a 1.33 WHIP. In his time on the mound, he has allowed one hit per inning and recorded 15 strikeouts.
Edward Cabrera will throw for Miami, and he is 1-1 with a 5.28 ERA and a 1.43 WHIP. He has elite strikeout ability, fanning 21 batters in 15.1 innings. Even though these pitchers don’t have the best ERA, they’re good NRFI arms because they don’t allow home runs.
Each pitcher has allowed just one home run this season. Home runs are the quickest way to ruin an NRFI wager, and these two pitchers know the formula to keep the ball in the yard. If they keep the ball down in the zone, both offenses will have difficulty making their way around the bases.

The best two pitchers on the Thursday slate are in the Nationals vs. Rangers game. Washington has an up-and-coming star on the mound against an established pitcher for the Rangers.
Mitchell Parker and Nathan Eovaldi are two great pitchers for an NRFI. Parker, a 24-year-old lefthander, is 2-0 with a 1.69 ERA and a 0.94 WHIP. He has 14 strikeouts in 16 innings and hasn’t allowed a home run this season.
Nathan Eovaldi, who was critical for the Rangers during their World Series run, will pitch for Texas. Eovaldi knows how to pitch despite a slow start to the campaign. Eovaldi hasn’t been bad, but he is known for improving after the season's first month.
Eovaldi is 1-2 with a 3.00 ERA and a 1.22 WHIP. He needs to get ahead in counts, allowing him to settle in and get out early in the game.
The NRFI cashed easily in game two of the series. Washington pulled off the 1-0 win. Hopefully, the Rangers bats stay cold, and the NRFI cashed for the second consecutive game.
