This Friday is going to be another solid opportunity for MLB betting, especially through no scores in the first inning. One of the most underrated games expected to be played between the Washington Nationals going on the road to take on the Oakland Athletics. This is a game that will have surprisingly consistent pitchers leading the charge for their teams. That will certainly make an impact on the potential lack of runs through the first inning.

There were not many expectations for either the Washington Nationals or the Oakland Athletics to make an impact this season. Last season, they were both among the worst teams in the league.
The start of this season didn’t look promising for either team. The Nationals started the season on a 3-6 as they only won one game in their series versus the Cincinnati Reds, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Philadelphia Phillies. They have, however, won three of the last four games played.
Oakland started the season with an overall record of 1-7, which included getting swept by the Boston Red Sox. The Athletics, however, have won four of the last five games played and won two of the three games on the road against the defending World Series winners in the Texas Rangers.
On Friday, the Athletics will host the Nationals for the start of a three-game series. Oakland will be starting Peter Blackburn at pitcher for the third time this season. He hasn’t allowed a run in 13 total innings pitched at the Detroit Tigers and against the Cleveland Guardians.
The Nationals will be starting Jake Irvin at the mound, who has had an up-and-down season. Irvin has a current season ERA of 5.73 with seven total runs allowed, but none allowed in the first inning.
This will be an interesting game where the Nationals and the Athletics will be testing their newfound momentum in this series. While there is momentum, the pitchers are capable enough to suppress the scoring in the first inning.
