Our first prop bet of the day will take us to Cincinnatti, Ohio. This prop will come from the Chicago White Sox vs Cincinnati Reds game. Both of these teams have losing records, so this will not be the most exciting game. We will look to the Reds’ Hunter Greene for this prop. Greene is an interesting player. He was the first overall pick in the 2017 MLB Draft but did not make his debut until last season. His rookie numbers were not great, but he proved himself to be one of the hardest-throwing pitchers in baseball. With that being said, Greene has had a great start to this season and is throwing a lot of strikeouts. He will finish this game with seven or more K’s. Bet on the over.
Greene comes into this game with an 0-1 record and a 2.89 ERA over six starts. He has only given up one earned run in his previous three starts and had a 2.19 ERA in the month of April. Greene is also coming off a ten-strikeout performance against the Oakland Athletics. That is the second time this year he has thrown ten strikeouts in a game. Greene will face a weak White Sox lineup in this game. Not only are the White Sox not hitting well, but they are striking out a lot. Chicago is averaging over ten K’s a game. Since that is the case, I expect Greene to have seven or eight strikeouts. Bet on the over.
We will go to Atlanta for our second and final prop bet of the day. This prop will come from one of the better games on slate today. The Baltimore Orioles and the Atlanta Braves have nearly the same record and are off to great starts, so this will be an exciting matchup. Max Fried will be the subject of this prop. Fried is an excellent pitcher and the ace of the Braves rotation, but he will not throw past the fifth inning today. Bet on the over.
Fried has only started four games this season but has been unstoppable. He comes into this game with a 2-0 record, 0.45 ERA, and a 0.90 WHIP. Those numbers speak for themselves. However, he has only pitched 20 innings in those four starts. Fried pitched five innings in his previous start against the New York Mets and also pitched five innings against the San Diego Padres earlier this season. The southpaw is simply not pitching deep into games. He will face a very strong Orioles lineup today. The Orioles are averaging over 5.5 runs per game and scored 13 runs in their last game. Fried will pitch well, but Baltimore will run the count up on him, and he will not be able to pitch in the sixth inning. Bet on the under.
