Our first prop bet of the day will come from the Los Angeles Dodgers vs Chicago Cubs game. The Dodgers are underperforming to begin the season, but the Cubs are exceeding expectations. This prop will involve the Cubs’ Drew Smyly. Smyly’s first start was difficult, but he rebounded with two one-run outings. With that being said, he is not pitching deep into games. Smyly will not pitch into the sixth inning. Bet on the under.
Smyly pitched against the Dodgers in his previous start and gave up four hits in 5⅔ innings. He was pitching well but was pulled after throwing 81 pitches. It appears the lefty is on a limited pitch count. This would make sense, as he is now in the back half of his career. If this is the case, it is not fair to expect to go to the sixth inning. He will be facing a Dodgers team with plenty of weapons and will probably give up more than four hits. Bet on the under.
Our second prop bet of the day will come from the White Sox vs. Rays matchup. The White Sox are struggling to start the season, but the Rays are the best team in the league. We will look at the Rays’ Josh Lowe for this prop. Lowe is yet to play a full season in the MLB but may be one of their outfielders of the future. He will finish this game with a hit. Bet on the over.
Lowe comes into this game with a .362 average. He is off to a hot start and has had at least one hit in his previous five games. He will face the White Sox’s Michael Kopech on the mound today. Kopech has a 6.32 ERA and a 1.66 WHIP through three starts. He has also not faced great teams in those three games. Since Kopech has the propensity to give up a lot of hits, Lowe should be able to knock a single past him. In case that does not work, Lowe will have an opportunity or two against the struggling White Sox bullpen. The White Sox bullpen has the third-highest ERA in baseball at 6.68. Bet on Lowe to get a hit. Bet on the over.
Our final prop bet of the day will take us to Phoenix, Arizona. This game will be an intense game between two divisional rivals. Seth Lugo will be the subject of this prop. Lugo, a veteran, is off to a solid start this season. He will throw 17 outs or more. Bet on the over.
Lugo did not have the most impressive outing last week but only gave up one run in six innings to the Atlanta Braves the week before. He does not give up a ton of hits and has solid control from the mound. The righty may have been a reliever last season but has stepped into his starting role well this year. Since he does not walk too much and does not have too high of a WHIP (1.32), I would expect him to throw 17 or 18 outs. Bet on the over.
