Best MLB Prop Bets Today April 1

Less than a week into the MLB season, there still aren’t a lot of obvious trends developing, which has made prop bets challenging. As a result, we tried to blend some familiar names with some surprising targets for Tuesday’s bets with the hope that we’ll find success one way or another.

The odds for Tuesday’s prop bets are from bet365 Sportsbook. If you sign up with bet365 using the code WSN365, you’ll get a choice between a safety net of up to $1,000 on your first wager or $150 in bonus bets for placing a $5 bet.

Best MLB Prop Bets Today: Mets vs. Marlins (6:40 PM, EST)

Juan Soto Over 1.5 Hits/Runs/RBI (-125) at bet365 Sportsbook

While Soto is yet to have a multi-hit game this season, he’s found a way to go over 1.5 hits/runs/RBI in three of his first four games. He’s obviously a home-run threat, meaning he can get a hit and an RBI with one swing. Soto also has some great hitters behind him, so if he gets on base, there is a good chance he’ll come around to score.

Of course, the most important factor is that Soto has drawn five walks in four games. He’s getting on base constantly, increasing his chances of scoring a run. Soto also has a strong track record against Miami’s Sandy Alcantara, going 11 for 38 (.289) with three extra-base hits and six walks, setting him up for another productive game on Tuesday.

Best MLB Prop Bets Today: Nationals vs. Blue Jays (7:07 PM, EST)

Nathaniel Lowe Over 0.5 Hits (-180) at bet365 Sportsbook

Lowe usually isn’t an obvious target for prop bets, but he’s off to a fast start this season. Despite going 0 for 3 on Monday, he’s still 6 for 16 with three extra-base hits thus far. For a player who’s off to such a fast start to be getting these odds for one measly hit, we have to take it. In theory, Lowe and the Nationals have a tough matchup against Jose Berrios on Tuesday.

However, Berrios got knocked around for six runs on nine hits in his first start of the season. Lowe is also 4 for 6 against Berrios in his career. That puts him in a good spot to collect another hit in Tuesday’s game.

Lars Nootbaar Over 1.5 Total Bases (+130) at bet365 Sportsbook

Nootbaar isn’t among the more common targets for prop bets. But he’s 3 for 8 in his career against Kyle Hendricks, who starts for the Angels on Tuesday. Nootbaar is also off to a fast start this season, going 6 for 13 with a pair of home runs. The early-season power has been surprising, but it also caught our eye that Nootbaar has had multiple hits in three of his four games.

With a favorable matchup against Hendricks lined up for Tuesday, there is a good chance he’ll be able to keep it going and collect multiple bases one way or another.

Kyle Hendricks Over 2.5 ER (-110) at bet365 Sportsbook

The entire St. Louis lineup should be looking forward to facing Hendricks on Tuesday. The 35-year-old went 4-12 with a 5.92 ERA last season, which explains why he had to settle for a one-year, $2.5 million contract with the Angels this offseason. There aren’t exactly high hopes for Hendricks, who appears to be over the hill. To open the 2024 season, Hendricks gave up at least four runs in five consecutive starts.

He could face similar issues to open the 2025 season, especially against a St. Louis lineup that has scored at least four runs in every game. He’s exactly the type of pitcher to fade early in the season.

Best MLB Prop Bets Today: Braves vs. Dodgers (10:10 PM, EST)

Chris Sale Over 6.5 Strikeouts (+128) at bet365 Sportsbook

Sale is the ace of Atlanta’s rotation, and the Braves need him to pitch like an ace on Tuesday night. Atlanta has started the season 0-5, largely because of an anemic lineup. Out of necessity, they’ll need Sale to step up against a dangerous Los Angeles lineup. While it’s a tall task, we believe Sale will rise to the occasion. He has good numbers against several key members of the Dodgers.

He also struck out seven batters against the Padres over five innings in his first start of the season despite giving up three runs on six hits. Look for him to give the Braves the start they need and rack up the strikeouts.
