Best MLB Prop Bets Today 2025 03 28

As predicted, opening day was a tough day for prop bets, as we only hit two of our five. The second day of the season presents similar challenges, especially with fewer games. However, we’ve done the hard work and crunched the numbers to come up with five prop bets for Friday that we feel confident will hit.

The odds for Friday’s bets are from bet365 Sportsbook, which is offering new customers $150 worth of bonus bets when they place a $5 bet. All you have to do is enter the promo code WSN365, and you’ll receive bonus bets whether your first bet wins or not. You also have the option of having a safety net of $1,000 on your first wager.

Best MLB Prop Bets Today: Rockies vs. Rays (4:10 PM, EST)

Ryan Pepiot Over 6.5 Strikeouts (+105) at bet365 Sportsbook

Admittedly, this total might be a little high for a pitcher’s first start of the season. However, keep in mind that the Rockies had the second-most strikeouts in baseball last season. It’s not as if their lineup is noticeably better this season. Also, Pepiot has 17 combined strikeouts against players on Colorado’s roster in just 38 at-bats. That’s almost a strikeout every other at-bat, so it wouldn’t take much longer than four innings to reach seven strikeouts. Pepiot also hit seven strikeouts in three of his first six starts of 2024. In a favorable matchup, even early in the season, he can rack up the strikeouts.

Best MLB Prop Bets Today: Orioles vs. Blue Jays (7:07 PM, EST)

Bo Bichette Over 1.5 Total Bases (-105) at bet365 Sportsbook

Bichette went hitless on opening day, as the entire Toronto lineup struggled in a lopsided loss. But Friday’s game should go much better for him against veteran Charlie Morton. He’s 5 for 16 (.313) with two extra-base hits in his career against Morton, who is now 41 and might not be the same pitcher he was a few years ago. Morton had a few issues last April, so if he’s not sharp for his first start of the season, Bichette is a great candidate to take advantage.

Best MLB Prop Bets Today: Cubs vs. Diamondbacks (9:40 PM, EST)

Lourdes Gurriel Under 0.5 Hits (+170) at bet365 Sportsbook

Gurriel has to be upset about having to face Taillon on Friday. In his career, he’s a paltry 1 for 18 (.056) against Taillon. That makes him an excellent candidate to go hitless on Friday since he’s likely to have at least three at-bats against Chicago’s starter. Despite collecting an RBI, Gurriel went 0 for 5 in Thursday’s opener, so he’s not off to a great start. Of course, it’s not just Taillon who’s given him problems in the past. Gurriel is hitting just .167 in his career against all of the pitchers on Chicago’s roster, which is why we’re happy to take the plus odds on him going hitless again.

Jameson Taillon Under 4.5 Hits Allowed (+125) at bet365 Sportsbook

As for Taillon, he’s had success against most of Arizona’s hitters. As a team, the Diamondbacks are hitting just .205 in their careers against Taillon. That’s a good omen for Taillon, who probably won’t be asked to pitch too deep in his first start of the season. He could keep the D’Backs under wraps for five innings and then leave before he has a chance to run into trouble and allow more than four hits. In 2024, Taillon allowed four hits or fewer in three of his first four starts, so another strong start in 2025 is plausible.

Best MLB Prop Bets Today: Braves vs. Padres (9:40 PM, EST)

Luis Arraez 2+ Hits (+210) at bet365 Sportsbook

Few hitters in baseball are better at collecting multiple hits than Arraez. With these odds, it’s worth taking a chance on him doing so on Friday. It helps that he’s 11 for 26 (.423) in his career against Atlanta starter Reynaldo Lopez. Granted, Arraez was 0 for 2 in Thursday’s opener. But that just means that he’s due for a couple of hits on Friday, as he’s likely to take an early lead in the race for the batting title.
