Best MLB Prop Bets Today 2024 10 25

It has been a long season, but it’s fair to say the two best teams in baseball are meeting in the World Series. For the 12th time in MLB history, it’ll be the Yankees and the Dodgers squaring off, and the first time they’ve done it since 1981. There is a lot of hype surrounding Game 1, and here are five prop bets to target for Friday night.

The odds for today’s bets are from bet365 Sportsbook, which gives new users a choice between a $1,000 safety net on their first wager or $200 in bonus bets for making a $5 bet.

Best MLB Prop Bets Today: Yankees vs. Dodgers (8:00 PM, EST)

Gerrit Cole Over 4.5 Hits Allowed (-110) at bet365

The Yankees have won all three postseason games that Cole has started. However, it’s been anything but easy for New York’s ace. He’s allowed at least six hits in all three of his starts. Keep in mind those came against the Royals and Guardians, teams that pale in comparison to the Los Angeles lineup. It’s also worth noting that Cole has poor numbers against a few key members of the Dodgers. Even if he can limit the number of runs allowed, Cole looks destined to give up at least five hits in Game 1.

Mookie Betts Over 1.5 Total Bases (+130) at bet365

Betts is one of the Dodgers with a strong track record against Cole. He’s 7 for 17 (.412) with a double in his career when facing Cole. Betts was also on fire for much of the NLCS, collecting six extra-base hits in six games, including five over the final three games of the series. Despite the long layoff between games, Betts is one hitter who is likely to hit the ground running in the World Series. Given his World Series experience and past success against Cole, he’s a safe bet to do some damage on Friday.

Enrique Hernandez Over 0.5 RBI (+250) at bet365

The numbers Hernandez has put up in the postseason throughout his career defy logic. In his career, he’s a .238 hitter with a 7.13 OPS, but in the playoffs, Hernandez hits .278 with an OPS of .889. In this year’s postseason, Hernandez is crushing the ball yet again. He collected five hits and four RBI over the final four games of the NLCS, so when he gets hits, they’re usually meaningful hits. The kicker is that Hernandez is 8 for 21 (.381) with four extra-base hits in his career against Cole, so he’s set up to continue his postseason success.

Anthony Rizzo Over 0.5 Hits (-145) at bet365

Despite a subpar regular season, Rizzo came to play during the ALCS, going 6 for 14 (.429) against the Guardians. The power numbers may not be there, but Rizzo had at least one hit in four of five games. He’ll also be licking his chops to face Jack Flaherty. Rizzo is 9 for 21 (.429) with four extra-base hits in his career against LA’s Game 1 starter. The chances of him adding another hit in Game 1 are strong and should warrant shorter odds than what we’re getting.

Giancarlo Stanton Over 0.5 Home Runs (+260) at bet365

Forget about Aaron Judge or Shohei Ohtani, the best player to target for a home run prop right now is Stanton. He’s already hit five during the postseason, including three consecutive games. When a player with his power gets in a groove, it’s tough to bet against him. To be fair, Stanton has never faced Jack Flaherty before. However, Flaherty has allowed three home runs in 15.1 innings during the playoffs. Also, Stanton has hit home runs against three different Los Angeles relievers who are likely to be used in high-leverage situations, giving him a good chance to go deep again in Game 1.
