Much like the home teams, Game 1 of the Wild Card Round didn’t go our way. However, Wednesday gives us a chance to correct that. For Wednesday, we’ll be focusing on the two National League games. We’re also targeting hitters exclusively with the hope that more than just one of the games produces more than four runs.
The odds for Wednesday’s bets are from bet365 Sportsbook. At bet365, if you open a new account, you can choose between $200 in bonus bets for making a $5 wager and getting a safety net of up to $1,000 on your first bet.

As a team, the Astros were quiet in Game 1. However, Alvarez was 2 for 4 with a double, continuing his hot start at the end of the season. He now has three straight multiple-hit games, going 8 for 11 with three doubles and a home run during that stretch. Alvarez is also a .299 hitter with a .559 slugging percentage in his postseason career, always thriving in October. While he’s 0 for 2 in his career against Detroit starter Tyler Holton, Alvarez was actually much better this season against lefties, hitting .362 with a .617 slugging percentage against southpaws. Between those numbers and the past few days he’s had, Alvarez is an obvious target.

Lindor stayed quiet in Game 1, one day after his heroics to get the Mets into the playoffs. But he still has three multi-hit games in his last five games, one of which came last weekend in a game started by Frankie Montas, who starts on Wednesday. Lindor is 4 for 12 with two doubles in his career against Montas. That gives him a favorable matchup to collect multiple bases. The way Lindor has been going lately, he’s unlikely to go back-to-back games without playing the role of hero for the Mets.
In a losing effort, Turang was Milwaukee’s star in Game 1. He led off the game with a hit, ultimately going 3 for 5 with two doubles. He also went 3 for 3 with a double last Friday against Sean Manaea, who is back on the mound for the Mets on Wednesday. While it was just one game, Turang should be excited to face Manaea again. He also has plenty of confidence after his performance on Tuesday, which is why it makes sense to target him for multiple bases in Game 2.

Tatis got off to a great start in Game 1 with a home run. Combined with his output from the 2020 playoffs, Tatis is now batting .320 with a slugging percentage of .760 in postseason games. Admittedly, that’s just seven playoff games, but in those games, he has eight hits, including two doubles and three home runs. The kicker is that he’s 2 for 5 with a double in his career against Atlanta starter Max Fried, giving Tatis a favorable matchup to do some damage on Tuesday.
Albies has gone 4 for 11 over the last two days, playing a role in the Braves winning a must-win game on Monday. However, he also struck out three times in Game 1 and is batting right-handed against right-handed pitchers because of the broken wrist that sidelined him earlier this season. In his career, Albies is just 2 for 13 (.154) with two strikeouts against San Diego’s Joe Musgrove. Albies has struggled against Musgrove and isn’t accustomed to facing him from the right side of the plate, so there are plenty of reasons to think he could go hitless in Game 2.
