Best MLB Prop Bets Today 2024 09 20

We were on the winning side of things again on Thursday thanks to three correct props, including two with plus odds. Now the challenge is to finish the week the same way. We’re staying aggressive with a few bets that have plus odds while also trying to stay safe with pitchers who have performed at a high level lately.

For Friday’s bets, we used bet365 Sportsbook, which is giving new users a choice between a safety net of $1,500 on their first wager or $200 in bonus bets just for making a $5 bet.

Best MLB Prop Bets Today: Blue Jays vs. Rays (6:50 PM, EST)

Jose Berrios Under 2.5 ER (-120) at bet365

Berrios has been on a late-season roll, going seven consecutive starts of giving up two earned runs or less. He’s limited opposing teams to one run or less in five of those seven starts, so he actually has a little margin for error. Berrios has actually been the winning pitcher in all seven of those starts, which is another bet to consider. Meanwhile, the Rays have been quiet offensively lately, scoring two runs or less in four of their last five games. That should give Berrios an excellent chance to stay hot and keep Tampa quiet.

Best MLB Prop Bets Today: Phillies vs. Mets (7:10 PM, EST)

Starling Marte Over 0.5 RBI (+290) at bet365

Marte didn’t even play on Thursday when the Mets scored 10 runs for the third straight game. But he’s been a big part of their sudden offensive explosion, collecting seven RBI in the last five games he’s played. While Marte has been moved around in the lineup, no matter where he is in the order, he’s getting RBI opportunities. He’s also crushing lefties this year, batting .326 with an OPS of .881 against them. Marte is also 3 for 9 with two extra-base hits in his career against Cristopher Sanchez, which is another reason we love the value of this pick.

David Peterson Over 17.5 Outs (-145) at bet365

Peterson faced the Phillies in his last start, throwing seven scoreless innings before giving up a run in the eighth while recording just two outs in that inning. He’s become one of the safest bets when it comes to pitching deep in games. Since the start of August, Peterson has completed at least six full innings in seven of his nine starts, including four starts in which he’s gone at least seven innings. He has the trust of manager Carlos Mendoza, which means Peterson will get the benefit of the doubt if he gets into trouble and has a great chance of completing six full innings.

Best MLB Prop Bets Today: White Sox vs. Padres (9:40 PM, EST)

Luis Arraez Over 1.5 Hits (+195) at bet365

Arraez went 0 for 5 in his last game, but prior to that, he collected multiple hits in seven of eight games. This month alone, he already has nine multiple-hit games. We’re banking that he’s going to get right back to collecting multiple hits on Friday. Arraez has a tough matchup against lefty Garrett Crochet, but that’s not a huge concern. He’s 3 for 6 in his career against Crochet and should have a great time against the White Sox bullpen once Crochet leaves the game.

Joe Musgrove Over 6.5 Strikeouts (+125) at bet365

Musgrove has been on a roll lately, and that includes his strikeout totals. He’s reached at least seven strikeouts in four of his last five games, reaching eight strikeouts or more in three of those five games. That’s not exactly how things have gone for him all season, but Musgrove has also tossed at least six scoreless innings in three of his last five starts. He’s pitching at a high level late in the year, which is leading to a lot of strikeouts. He’ll face a lackluster White Sox lineup on Friday, meaning his chances of another high strikeout total are good.
