Best MLB Prop Bets Today 2024 09 04

After success on Monday, our aggressive approach backfired a little on Tuesday, winning just one of five props. We’re easing back a little on Wednesday but still staying aggressive with multiple bets that have plus money. At the same time, we’re mixing things up a little with bets and players we don’t always target because that’s where the value lies.

The odds for Wednesday are from bet365 Sportsbook, which is giving new customers a choice of welcome bonuses. They can choose $200 in bonus bets for a $5 bet of a safety net on their first bet of up to $1,000.

Best MLB Prop Bets Today: Nationals vs. Marlins (6:40 PM, EST)

MacKenzie Gore Under 2.5 ER (-105) at bet365

With a few good starts lately and a favorable matchup against the lowly Marlins, this is a good time to target Gore. He’s allowed two runs or less in three of his last four starts, including starts against the Braves and Yankees. That should put him in good shape against the Marlins, a team he handled for one run over seven innings earlier this year. Granted, it’s a different Miami lineup from the one he faced in that start. But it’s also a Miami lineup without a ton of firepower.

Best MLB Prop Bets Today: Cardinals vs. Brewers (7:40 PM, EST)

Willy Adames 2+ Total Bases (+165) at bet365

His home run streak is over, but we’re still going to target Adames. He still has a 12-game hitting streak that has included four multi-hit games and eight extra-base hits. Even without a home run on Tuesday, Adames still hit a double. He also has a surprisingly good track record against Sonny Gray, going 5 for 12 with a double and homer. Between past success against Gray and the fact that he’s still swinging a hot bat, there is great value in targeting Adames for multiple bases on Wednesday.

Giancarlo Stanton Over 1.5 Strikeouts (-115) at bet365

We don’t often target hitters for multiple strikeouts, but Stanton is a clear target for this on Wednesday. He’s had multiple strikeouts in four of his last six games, including three on Tuesday. To be fair, he has good career numbers against Texas starter Nathan Eovaldi, going 12 for 38 with six extra-base hits. But Stanton also has 13 strikeouts in those 38 at-bats against Eovaldi. Clearly, his all-or-nothing approach could be a problem against Eovaldi, who is fresh off a 10-strikeout performance in his last start, so he can get some whiffs out of Stanton.

George Kirby Over 2.5 ER (+125) at bet365

Admittedly, fading a pitcher against Oakland didn't work out on Tuesday, but we’re going to try again. While Kirby has been brilliant for most of the year, he posted a 6.84 ERA in August, giving up at least three earned runs in four of his five starts. There are also a few members of Oakland’s lineup that have had past success against him. This should be a game that gets Kirby back on track. However, starts against the Tigers, Giants, and Angels last month didn’t do that, so we’ll fade him against the A’s.

Brent Rooker Over 1.5 Total Bases (+140) at bet365

Rooker is one of the Oakland hitters that has had past success against Kirby, going 3 for 9 with a double and a home run. He’s also in the midst of a seven-game hitting streak that includes three multi-hit games. Rooker has collected multiple bases in four of his last five games and should be comfortable facing Kirby on Wednesday. With plus odds, he provides plenty of value for collecting multiple bases.
