As usual, there are fewer games than usual on Thursday’s MLB schedule. But that doesn’t bother us one bit with the bets we’ve selected. We saw clear advantages for several members of both the Phillies and Blue Jays, allowing us to lean into those bets.
The odds for Thursday’s MLB prop bets are from Caesars Sportsbook, which is giving new customers a bonus bet of up to $1,500 if they lose their first wager immediately after signing up.

The Mets are fresh off another disaster from their bullpen, which will give them even more reason to push Peterson deep in this game. Frankly, the Mets are already doing that with Peterson, who owns a 1.71 ERA over his five starts in August. The lefty is pitching well, which is why he’s lasted at least seven innings in back-to-back starts. He’s also reached six full innings in four of his last five starts. Also, since his season started late, the Mets aren’t concerned with his innings count, so there should be no issue with him going six innings or more on Thursday.

Morton has utterly atrocious career numbers against several members of the Phillies. Other than Trea Turner and Nick Castellanos, the core of the Philly lineup seems to enjoy facing Morton. The 40-year-old has also been quite hittable all season. More recently, Morton posted a 5.31 ERA in July and a 4.56 ERA thus far in August. He’s also allowed at least six hits in five of his last seven starts. Even if he limits the number of runs he gives up, Morton is bound to give up at least half a dozen hits in this game.
Against Morton, Harper might be Philly’s most dangerous hitter. Harper is 11 for 27 (.407) with three extra-base hits in his career against Morton. He’s also collected nine hits in his last seven games, including four extra-base hits. As the no. 3 hitter in the lineup, he could do some damage against Morton, and if there are runners on base, Harper will be able to drive them in. He’s collected an RBI in three of his last five games, giving this bet a ton of value in Thursday’s game.

Most people probably haven’t heard of Francis or aren't paying attention to what he’s doing for the hapless Blue Jays. But the 28-year-old has been amazing lately. Over his four starts in August, Bowden has pitched to a 1.32 ERA. In each of his last three starts, Francis has pitched at least seven innings while allowing one run or less. We have to take advantage of his plus odds on giving up two runs or less against the Red Sox. Most of Boston’s lineup is yet to face him, which should give Francis an edge, especially with everything else going right for him lately.
Admittedly, we missed on Guerrero getting at least two hits on Wednesday, but we’re going to come back with the same bet on Thursday because the value is still there. Keep in mind that Guerrero had four straight multi-hit games before Wednesday when he only got three at-bats. After going 1-3 on Wednesday, he remains one of the hottest hitters in baseball with a .322 average. Guerrero is also 4 for 9 in his career against Boston starter Kutter Crawford. That should set him up for another multiple-hit game.
