Best MLB Prop Bets Today 2024 08 26

A new week offers us a new opportunity to get hot with our prop bets with the September stretch run around the corner. Given the matchups we have on Monday without every team in action, the advantage is going to the hitters. Of course, there is one hitter that we’re fading, helping to make this a diverse set of picks.

The odds for Monday’s best are from Caesars Sportsbook, which is giving new users a chance to receive a bonus bet of up to $1,000 if they lose their first bet after signing up.

Best MLB Prop Bets Today: Cubs vs. Pirates (6:40 PM, EST)

Seiya Suzuki Over 1.5 Total Bases (+118) at Caesars

Suzuki went hitless on Sunday, but prior to that, he was scorching hot. In fact, he had two home runs and a triple in Saturday’s 14-2 win by the Cubs, who have worked their way back into the Wild Card picture. Over his last five games, Suzuki has eight hits, half of which have gone for extra bases. He’s also 4 for 7 with a double in his career against Pittsburgh starter Mitch Keller. That matchup combined with his recent hot streak is enough to take a chance on Suzuki collecting multiple bases on Monday.

Rowdy Tellez Under 0.5 Hits (+143) at Caesars

On the other side of the spectrum, we’re fading Tellez to go hitless. With a .246 average, Tellez isn’t necessarily the ideal no-hit candidate. However, he’s just 1 for 11 in his career against Chicago’s Jameson Taillon. He couldn’t be quite that bad against a right-handed starter, even one as good as Taillon. While Taillon hasn’t been at his best lately, he’s too good to suddenly allow Tellez to get the best of him, which is why we like the chances of a hitless game for Tellez.

Cody Bellinger Over 0.5 Doubles (+300) at Caesars

Betting on a player to hit a double is an unusual bet to target, but there is a ton of value with Bellinger doing just that. He has hit a double in four of his last six games with four of his six hits during that time being a double. The home run power hasn’t been there lately, but Bellinger is finding the gaps and reaching second base. Oddly enough, he’s 4 for 11 in his career against Keller with three of those four hits being doubles. It sounds unusual, but there is so much indicating that Bellinger is going to hit a double in this game. With +300 odds, it’s worth a shot.

Zack Wheeler Under 18.5 Outs Recorded (-133) at Caesars

Obviously, Wheeler is always a candidate to go deep into a game. He’s also rocking a 1.73 ERA across his four starts in August, so there is every chance he’ll pitch well again on Monday and have a chance to go beyond six innings. However, Wheeler has only gone beyond six innings twice in his last eight starts. He’ll have to produce something special to stay in the game into the seventh inning. Against a quality Houston lineup, even Wheeler may not be able to go deep, which is why this feels like a safe pick.

Best MLB Prop Bets Today: Padres vs. Cardinals (7:45 PM, EST)

Luis Arraez Over 1.5 Hits (+120) at Caesars

Arraez is locked in a tight race for the batting title, and with a .303 record, he remains a good candidate to have a multi-hit game. After getting a day off on Sunday, Arraez should be a little rejuvenated and ready to start collecting hits again. He had two multi-hit games during a four-game weekend series with the Mets, so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him get back on track after an off day. Naturally, Arraez has a good track record against the pitcher he’ll face on Monday, going 5 for 7 in his career against Kyle Gibson. That’s enough to make us target Arraez for multiple hits.
