Best MLB Prop Bets Today 2024 07 29

A new week means a fresh slate for making prop bets. Admittedly, we were a little sluggish last week, but that’s just shaking off the rust after the all-star break. With August approaching, now is when we’re going to start to step things up. To help make that happen, we’re going heavy on the Mariners teeing off against Nick Pivetta and the Red Sox. For Monday, our odds are from Caesars Sportsbook, which is giving new users a bonus bet of up to $1,000 if they lose their first wager after signing up.

Best MLB Prop Bets Today: Guardians vs. Tigers (6:40 PM, EST)

Jack Flaherty Under 1.5 ER (+112) at Caesars

Usually, when a lineup sees a pitcher multiple times in quick succession, the advantage goes to the hitters in the second matchup. However, Flaherty has faced the Guardians in two of his last three starts, allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits across 12 innings of work. In total, he’s allowed just 11 hits over 18 innings against Cleveland this year. More to the point, Flaherty has allowed one earned run or less in six of his last eight starts, so he’s been crushing it for a while. Also, the Guardians have been shut out twice in their last four games and five times in their last 13 games. They disappear offensively against elite pitching, which is what Flaherty brings to the table on Monday.

Best MLB Prop Bets Today: Mariners vs. Red Sox (7:10 PM, EST)

Randy Arozarena Over 1.5 Total Bases (+110) at Caesars

Boston’s Nick Pivetta got shelled in his last start and has allowed at least three runs in six of his last eight starts. But instead of fading him, we’re just going to target several Seattle hitters. First up is Arozarena, who is 8 for 22 (.364) with four extra-base hits in his career against Pivetta. The newest Mariner is also 5 for 14 over his last four games. He was heating up right before the trade and is getting a favorable matchup against Pivetta, so we’ll ride that wave with him.

Jorge Polanco Over 0.5 Hits (-169) at Caesars

Despite a .210 batting average on the season, Polanco has a four-game hitting streak, going 6 for 18 during that stretch. Surely, he’s a better hitter than what he’s shown for most of the season, so he might be able to stay in this groove for a little while. The kicker is that Polanco is 4 for 8 with three extra-base hits in his career against Pivetta. That points to him staying hot on Monday and keeping his hitting streak alive.

Cal Raleigh Home Run (+325) at Caesars

This is a good time to target Raleigh, who has homered in back-to-back games. Earlier this month, he hit five home runs in a four-game stretch, so his long balls tend to come in bunches. Also, much like Arozarena and Polanco, he has a great track record against Pivetta. Raleigh is 3 for 7 against Pivetta with two of those three hits being home runs. In his last start, Pivetta allowed multiple home runs for the fifth time this season, so he’s a good candidate to allow a homer again on Monday.

Best MLB Prop Bets Today: Nationals vs. Diamondbacks (9:40 PM, EST)

Mitchell Parker Over 2.5 ER (-127) at Caesars

In the middle of June, Parker was rocking a 3.06 ERA and having a brilliant season. However, things have gone south for him, as he’s allowed at least four runs in four of his last six starts. Keep in mind his ERA is much higher on the road than at home, so this is a good spot to fade him. While nobody in Arizona’s lineup has faced the lefty before, the D’Backs have scored at least four runs in six straight games, averaging 5.3 runs per game during that stretch. That makes them a good candidate to do some damage against Parker.
