As expected, the shortened schedule on Monday wasn’t particularly kind to us. But with a full schedule on Monday, we have a lot of options. But we decided to remain aggressive and do our best to target prop bets with plus odds. We’re even shooting the moon with one pick with the hope it’ll pay off. The odds we’re using Tuesday are from Caesars Sportsbook, which is giving new users a risk-free bet of up to $1,000 on their first wager after signing up.

Since we can’t get over 1.5 total bases for Soto on Tuesday, we decided to bet on him hitting a double against Graham Ashcraft and the Reds. The obvious caveat is that Soto hasn’t hit a double since June 14 and has more home runs than doubles on the season. That’s why we’re getting such lucrative odds for this bet. However, in his career against Ashcraft, he’s 3 for 9 with two of those three hits being doubles. Soto is also 3 for 7 with a home run over his last two games, so he heads into Monday’s game swinging a good bat, which is why we think this is worth the risk.

Atlanta’s record this year in games Lopez has started is 10-4. More importantly, they’ve won his last five starts with Lopez being the winning pitcher in four of them. While the Braves have provided decent run support for him, Lopez also pitched to a 1.64 ERA across his four starts in June. There is every reason to think that he’ll be able to keep it going against the Giants in his first start in July. With plus odds, we like Lopez’s chances of being the winning pitcher yet again in a game the Braves figure to win against San Francisco’s 22-year-old starter Hayden Birdsong.

Eovaldi’s strikeout totals haven’t been as consistent as you might think this season for a pitcher who’s still averaging one per inning. For instance, he managed just four in his last start despite pitching seven innings against the Brewers. Eovaldi has also had his fair share of abbreviated outings this season. On Tuesday, the San Diego lineup poses a tough challenge for him, as the Padres have won nine of their last 11 games. In each of the last five games they’ve won, the Padres have scored at least seven runs, so they could give Eovaldi some trouble. The San Diego lineup is also one of the toughest to strike out in baseball, which is why we’re leaning toward a low strikeout total for Eovaldi in this game.

We haven’t been afraid to back Rodriguez for a high strikeout total this season, especially when there are plus odds. While he wasn’t blowing hitters away in June, he did win four of his five starts. More importantly, the Mariners lead the majors in strikeouts, which should favor Rodriguez. He’s typically been able to pitch deep in games this year, which is another reason to take the over.
While it’d be nice to get plus odds for this bet, we’re at least close. More importantly, Henderson has been crushing it lately. Before Sunday’s four-strikeout performance, which we assume is an anomaly, Henderson had multiple hits in four of his last five games. He also had three extra-base hits during that three-game stretch. The kicker is that he’s 3 for 7 with two extra-base hits in his career against Seattle’s George Kirby. All of those numbers suggest a big night for Henderson despite collecting a Golden Sombrero in his last game.
