Best MLB Prop Bets Today 2024 06 20 Yankees Luis Gil

It’s mostly day games on a limited MLB schedule on Thursday. That means we’re getting a little creative and targeting players we wouldn’t ordinarily target and prop bets we don’t often use. However, by focusing on the Yankees and Giants specifically, we were able to find a collection of prop bets that we like. The odds from those bets are from Caesars Sportsbook, which is giving new users a chance to make a no-risk bet up to $1,000 as their first wager.

Best MLB Prop Bets Today: Orioles vs. Yankees (4:05 PM, EST)

Luis Gil Under 2.5 ER (-163) at Caesars

From our perspective, this bet doesn’t have a ton of value but it’s close to a lock. Granted, two starts ago, Gil gave up three runs against the Dodgers. But that’s the only time in his last nine starts that Gil has conceded more than one run in a start. Ironically, that stretch began with a brilliant performance against the Orioles in which he allowed just two hits over 6.1 scoreless innings. Baltimore’s roster has a combined 33 at-bats against Gil and just five hits. New York’s young ace should continue to dominate and have no problem holding the Orioles to two runs or less in a matinee.

D.J. LeMahieu Over 0.5 Singles (-142) at Caesars

On the season, LeMahieu has been terrible, batting just .196. But he’s still playing every day, especially now that Anthony Rizzo is on the IL. LeMahieu is coming off a two-hit game on Wednesday, so he’s feeling good. He’s also 4 for 7 in his career against Baltimore starter Cole Irvin, so this is actually a good time to target LeMahieu. The only caveat is that we need to bet on him to hit a single rather than just a hit in order to get value. The good news is that LeMahieu is yet to record an extra-base hit this season, so if he gets a hit, it will probably be a single.

Best MLB Prop Bets Today: Giants vs. Cardinals (7:15 PM, EST)

Keaton Winn Over 2.5 ER (+110) at Caesars

We don't often do this, we are going to fade Winn and his 6.66 ERA with multiple prop bets. It’s a testament to how bad he’s been lately, as well as the abbreviated Thursday schedule. Somehow, Winn has been worse than that 6.66 ERA suggests. He pitched to an 18.36 ERA over three starts in May before going on the IL. In his two starts since getting back, his ERA is 8.71. In all five of those starts, Winn has allowed at least three runs. While the Cardinals aren’t the best candidate to knock him around, Winn’s struggles lately are too much to ignore.

Keaton Winn Over 1.5 Walks (-131) at Caesars

Winn has had a lot of trouble with his control during his last five starts. He’s walked at least two batters in four of those five starts. Even when he failed to get out of the first inning of one of those starts, he still managed to walk two batters. To be fair, the Cardinals aren’t the best team in the majors at drawing walks. However, they’ll know going into the game that Winn has been struggling, so they’ll be patient if he’s not finding the strike zone.

Best MLB Prop Bets Today: Brewers vs. Padres (9:40 PM, EST)

Adam Mazur Over 2.5 ER (-111) at Caesars

It doesn’t feel good fading a 23-year-old pitcher with just three career starts. But in those three starts, Mazur has a 7.82 ERA. To be fair, he only allowed two runs in his last start, but he was also pulled after 3.2 innings. He’s been playing with fire, which is why we’ve decided to fade him on Thursday. After all, the Brewers have some big bats, especially with William Contreras and Christian Yelich at the top of the lineup. They’ll be able to take advantage of a young pitcher who hasn’t found his way in the big leagues yet.
