After a set of hitter-centric prop bets on Tuesday, we’re taking things in a different direction on Wednesday. Most of our MLB props today are focused on starting pitchers having a good outing. Even with some talented offensive teams involved, we’re backing several pitchers to dominate. Today’s odds come from Caesars Sportsbook, which is currently offering a bonus bet of up to $1,000 to new users if their first bet on the platform loses.

The over/under for Assad's strikeout total was much lower than we were expecting. Naturally, the value isn't as high as we usually like. But that just means this feels like an easy win. Assad has hit at least seven strikeouts in four of his last five starts, so he's missing a lot of bats even when he’s sometimes getting hit hard. It’s actually quite the conundrum for the young starter. On the other side of the coin, he's registered four strikeouts or less in four of his last eight starts. But with the Rays tied for the sixth-most strikeouts in the majors, we're projecting a big strikeout game for Assad on Wednesday.

Sanchez is another pitcher with a lower strikeout total than we were expecting. We probably would have been confident going with over 6.5 strikeouts, so we’ll happily take over 5.5 strikeouts. To be fair, in six of his last eight starts, Sanchez has been limited to five strikeouts or less. But he also has two starts during that stretch with at least seven strikeouts. The key is that the Red Sox have the third-most strikeouts in the big leagues. Sanchez has been outstanding in his last couple of starts, so against a team that’s vulnerable to striking out, we think he’ll put up a big number in this game.
This is something of a revenge game for Pivetta, who began his career with the Phillies but has found much greater success in Boston. Obviously, the Phillies are talented offensively, so holding them to two runs or less doesn’t come easy. However, Pivetta tossed seven one-hit innings against the Braves in his last start. He’s now limited opposing teams to two runs or less in four of his last five starts. That’s enough for us to jump on the bandwagon and back Pivetta to be locked in against his former team.
Bet on Phillies vs Red Sox Props at Caesars
The Reds have scored a total of just 12 runs over their last four games, which points to Bibee getting through five or six innings while allowing two runs or less. Virtually nobody on the Reds has faced Bibee previously, so it might take a few innings to figure him out. Bibee has also hit a groove lately, allowing two runs or less in four of his last five starts and one run in three of those five starts. The Guardians are also 11-2 in his starts this year, so he’s typically been able to limit the damage and put his team in a position to win.
We couldn’t go exclusively with pitchers on Wednesday, so we decided to turn to Ramirez, who is a frequent target for us. The switch-hitting Ramirez has been much better against lefties this year, batting .316 with an OPS of .957 when facing southpaws. That gives him a favorable matchup on Wednesday against Cincy’s Nick Lodolo. He’s actually 2 for 2 with a home run in his career against Lodolo. Ramirez also has three multi-hit games in his last eight games, so we feel good about his chances to collect multiple bases on Wednesday.
