Admittedly, this hasn’t been our best week, but we’ve at least been competitive. In any event, we feel good about being able to close the week on a high, especially with a full schedule available to us. We’ve ended up with a good mix of pitchers and hitters on Friday, including some players we don’t often target, which should keep things interesting. Today, our odds are from Caesars Sportsbook, which is offering a no-risk bet up to $1,000 for new users on their first wager.

The first thing to know about this bet is that the Pirates have the fourth-most strikeouts in the majors this year. They have 9.6 strikeouts per game, so they’re a team that’s vulnerable to a high strikeout total against a frontline starter like Berrios. Also, Pittsburgh’s roster has a combined 18 strikeouts in 54 total at-bats against Berrios, which is a strikeout every three at-bats. In other words, a strikeout per inning from Berrios should be enough, especially since he’s pitched at least six innings in nine of his 11 starts. While he’s only reached six strikeouts in six of those 11 starts, this is a game in which he’s more than capable of getting there.

Honestly, we may have taken under 2.5 ER for Sears in this game. The Braves just don’t look like themselves offensively right now, scoring two runs or less in three straight games. Also, Sears has a solid 3.88 ERA on the season. While he can be erratic at times, Oakland’s ace has allowed one run or less in six of his last nine starts. Of course, he’s allowed at least four runs in the other three starts. But with a sluggish Atlanta lineup, we’ll take a chance on Sears keeping them under wraps.

On paper, this game looks like a potential pitcher’s duel, but we've picked out two hitter props. Arraez is an obvious candidate despite just one multi-hit game in his last six games. He still has at least one hit in 13 of his last four games. Since he’s batting .332, he’s due for another multi-hit game at some point. Against Kansas City starter Michael Wacha, Arraez is 4 for 13 with a pair of home runs. While that’s unusual for him, it’s a sign that he sees the ball well against Wacha and should have a good night.
We’ve targeted Pasquantino a few times this year, mostly because he has plenty of power. He was 2 for 5 with a home run on Thursday, showcasing some of that power. On paper, Dylan Cease looks like a tough matchup for most hitters. However, Pasquantino is 3 for 5 with a double and a home run in his career against Cease. Keep in mind that Cease has hit a speed bump over his last three starts, which should open the door for a hitter like Pasquantino to do some damage with an extra-base hit, especially given his history against San Diego’s ace.

For whatever reason, Stroman has caught our eye recently. It’s probably because he’s allowed just one run over his last 19.1 innings across three starts. More importantly, Stroman has allowed three hits or less in four of his last five starts. In total opposing teams have been limited to four hits or less in seven of his 11 starts this year. The Giants aren’t exactly an offensive juggernaut and they’ve scored just one run in each of their last two games. That’s a good sign that Stroman will be able to keep up his dominance.
