Best MLB Prop Bets Today 2024 05 10

Our performance on MLB prop picks this week could be described as solid but unspectacular. But that makes us motivated to finish the week with a strong performance. We decided to take our chances with some of the hottest hitters in baseball for today’s prop bets while also finding value. The odds are from DraftKings Sportsbook, which is giving new users $200 worth of bonus bets after signing up.

Best MLB Prop Bets Today: Yankees vs. Rays (6:50 PM, EST)

Alex Verdugo Over 1.5 Total Bases (+135) at DraftKings

After a three-hit game on Tuesday, Verdugo has gone hitless in back-to-back games. That means he's cooled off again. However, he’s crushed Tampa starter Taj Bradley in his career, going 5 for 5 with three doubles and a triple. Even in such a small sample, that is an unreal track record against a pitcher. While Verdugo isn’t the most obvious player to collect multiple bases, we’re okay with taking a chance on him to keep raking against Bradley.

Isaac Paredes Over 0.5 Hits (-160) at DraftKings

It’s a little shocking to see this much value for Parades to get just one hit. He’s currently hitting .300 and has at least one hit in seven of his last nine games, including five multi-hit games during that stretch. Paredes is also 4 for 9 with a homer in his career against Clarke Schmidt, who starts for the Yankees on Friday. Again, Paredes deserves -200 or lower odds for collecting a single hit. That’s too much value for us to ignore.

Best MLB Prop Bets Today: Rangers vs. Rockies (8:40 PM, EST)

Nathaniel Lowe Over 0.5 RBI (+165) at DraftKings

Lowe missed the first chunk of the season, but he hit the ground running after getting back and remains scorching hot. He has 22 hits in 18 games, including six extra-base hits. Lowe also has a six-game hitting streak with 11 hits during that stretch. He also has eight RBI in those six games, allowing him to cash this RBI prop in four of his last six games. At the moment, Lowe is batting third in the Texas lineup right behind Marcus Semien and Corey Seager, which is giving him RBI opportunities. The kicker is that the Rangers are playing at Coors Field on Friday, so there should be plenty of runs scored. It’s hard not to think that Lowe will be in the middle of that and drive in some runs, especially since he’s 4 for 7 with a double and a homer against Colorado starter Austin Gomber.

Best MLB Prop Bets Today: Dodgers vs. Padres (9:40 PM, EST)

Shohei Ohtani Over 2.5 Hits/Runs/RBI (+110) at DraftKings

Not surprisingly, Ohtani is one of the hottest hitters in baseball right now. He has the best batting average in the majors at .355 and is second in homers. On Friday, he’ll face Michael King, a pitcher he's owned, going 4 for 9 with a double and three home runs. Needless to say, Ohtani has a favorable matchup in Friday’s game. Plus, over his last six games, Ohtani is averaging 4.2 hits/runs/RBI per game. Since we’re getting plus odds in this bat, it’d be foolish not to take a chance on Ohtani continuing to crush it.

Tyler Glasnow Over 5.5 Strikeouts (-160) at DraftKings

Heading into Friday, Glasnow is tied for the most strikeouts in the big leagues. He also has at least nine strikeouts in three straight games. Obviously, we were a little surprised to see the over/under at 5.5 strikeouts. In fairness, the Padres don’t strike out that much while Glasnow has had five strikeouts or less in three of his eight starts. But that’s only happened once in his last six starts. Keep in mind that Glasnow has pitched at least six innings in six of his eight starts, so he only needs to average one strikeout per inning to hit this prop, which is more than reasonable.
