Best MLB Prop Bets for Today: Targeting MLB’s Hottest Hitters on Friday, April 5

Thursday was yet another good day for us, going 4-1 on our MLB prop bets. That’s made us confident heading into the end of the week. There is a full slate of games and a bunch of new series beginning, so there is no shortage of options. But here are our five favorite MLB prop bets for April 5. Best MLB Prop Bets Today: Rays vs. Rockies (4:10 PM, EST)

Charlie Blackmon Over 2.5 Hits + Runs + RBI (+110) at DraftKings

Surprisingly, old Charlie Blackmon has been one of the hottest hitters in baseball during the first week of the season. It defies logic and may not last much longer, but the 37-year-old is hitting .417. In his last four games, he’s combined for 15 hits, runs, and RBI, averaging nearly four of that combined stat per game, which is why we’ll happily take plus odds on Blackmon getting at least three hits, runs, and RBI on Friday. He matches up against Chicago’s Kyle Hendricks, against whom he’s 6 for 20 (.300) with four RBI in his career, making this a good matchup.

Best MLB Prop Bets Today: Orioles vs. Pirates (4:12 PM, EST)

Grayson Rodriguez Over 6.5 Strikeouts (-115) at DraftKings

Rodriguez is the only pitcher we’re targeting on Friday, as he faces the Pirates. Nobody in Pittsburgh’s lineup has ever faced Baltimore’s young starter, which should give Rodriguez an advantage. He probably doesn’t need much of an edge anyway, striking out nine over six innings against the Angels in his first start of the season. The kicker is that the Pirates are averaging 11 strikeouts per game, which is the most in baseball. That should allow Rodriguez to get to seven strikeouts.

Ryan Mountcastle Over 0.5 RBI (+155) at DraftKings

The Baltimore lineup is facing an untested rookie on Friday, which is a recipe for plenty of runs being scored by the Orioles. Mountcastle, who typically hits third in Baltimore’s lineup, is the perfect candidate to collect an RBI. While he's not the team leader, Mountcastle has seven RBI in just six games this season. Given the favorable matchup for the Orioles against Jared Jones, this is a good spot for an RBI prop.

Best MLB Prop Bets Today: Phillies vs. Nationals (6:40 PM, EST)

J.T. Realmuto Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBI (-140) at DraftKings

While Realmuto isn’t exactly crushing it lately, Friday’s matchup against Patrick Corbin and the Nationals is too favorable to ignore. For what it’s worth, Realmuto is betting .278 during the early part of the season and has a hit in four straight games. In his career against Corbin, he’s 11 for 32 (.344) with four extra-base hits and 6 RBI. All we need is for Realmuto to get two hits or one hit that drives in a run or for one of his teammates to drive him in for a run to hit this prop. With so many possibilities for such a favorable matchup, we like our chances of hitting this prop.

Best MLB Prop Bets Today: White Sox vs. Royals (7:40 PM, EST)

Bobby Witt Jr. Over 2.5 Hits + Runs + RBI (+100) at DraftKings

Witt is arguably the hottest hitter in baseball right now. He’s hitting .429 with an OPS of 1.393 with eight of his 12 hits on the season going for extra-bases. Despite just two RBI on the season, Witt does everything else, which makes us think this combo stat prop is the best way to go. He’s gone over 2.5 hits, runs, and RBI in five of his seven this year, which makes us think there is great value with plus odds.
