In our first MLB prop bet for this weekend, look for Corbin Burnes to get the win when the Milwaukee Brewers face the Pittsburgh Pirates on Saturday night. After a slow start to this season, Burnes has been pitching better than nearly anyone in baseball. Expect that to continue here against a Pirates team that has fallen on hard times after their excellent start to the year.
Burnes went 4-1 in July in six starts, and allowed a maximum of two runs in any of those outings over the last month. While there is no guarantee that Burnes will continue to pitch that well in the month of August, there is certainly optimism surrounding him for the rest of the 2023 campaign. He is likely to continue his momentum rolling in this game against a Pirates team that is in the bottom-five in runs scored in baseball this season.
The Pirates’ offensive ineptitude in 2023 is huge for the prospects of this prop bet. The reason for that is that the Brewers should not need to score too many runs while Burnes is on the mound in order to put him in position to get the win. At a slight plus price, we will take our chances on Burnes extending his run to 5-1 since the start of July.

Another prop bet that we love for Saturday is for Ryne Nelson of the Arizona Diamondbacks to strike out at least five Minnesota Twins hitters. Nelson comes into this game having struck out 75 batters in 119 innings of work. But this particular matchup should be favorable for him as he should be able to mow down some Twins to help cash this prop bet.
So far this season, no team in baseball has struck out more often than the Minnesota Twins. They have racked up 1,140 strikeouts in 111 games so far this year, averaging more than 10 strikeouts per game as a team. While Nelson is not a huge strikeout pitcher, it does not take a pure strikeout pitcher in order to mow down the Twins via the strikeout, as their past performances have proven.
It is also worth noting that Nelson has struck out five or more batters on six different occasions already this year. With that and a favorable matchup in mind here, we should see him get to the five-strikeout mark for a seventh time in 2023.
Our final MLB prop bet worth looking at this weekend comes from Saturday’s AL West showdown between the Los Angeles Angels and Seattle Mariners. In that game, we are taking a close look at Angels pitcher Tyler Anderson. Expect Anderson to give up at least six hits, in what should be an entertaining game late on Saturday night between two rivals that are looking to climb over one another in the AL Wild Card race.
Anderson has been an interesting pitcher for the Angels all season, as he enters this game with a 5-2 record but also with a 4.98 ERA. This season, Anderson is allowing more than a hit per inning on average, giving up 111 hits in 99.1 innings of work. Look for the Los Angeles starter to continue that trend against a Mariners team that has plenty of dangerous bats, even if they struggle to convert their contact into runs on a regular basis.
