The New York Mets led the Nationals 7-1 on Sunday, but ultimately lost 8-7. I expect them to respond, which is why they’re one of the primary teams in my Monday MLB parlay.

The Athletics are in the playoff race after one month of games. This is a significant accomplishment for a team that doesn’t spend a lot of money on players.
Texas is one of their primary opponents in the American League West, and the two clubs will battle on Monday. The Athletics are set up better with their starting pitching, which is why I’m leaning on them in this spot.
JP Sears will take the ball for the Athletics, and he is 3-2 with a 3.21 ERA and a 1.11 WHIP. He has allowed just 25 hits in 29 innings.
He has struggled giving up home runs, and Texas is 11th in baseball. However, I expect the Athletics' offense to be just as potent facing Patrick Corbin.
Corbin is 2-0, but he has a 3.77 ERA and a 1.53 WHIP. He has allowed 17 hits in 14.1 innings and should give up plenty more on Monday.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have a significant advantage in both offense and pitching against the Marlins. Los Angeles will start Dustin May, and he has been solid this season.
He is 1-1 with a 3.68 ERA and a 1.18 WHIP. He has struggled with free passes at times, but Miami has an average offense.
I don’t believe the Marlins will take advantage of the opportunities they receive against the Dodgers because Los Angeles should put together an offensive clinic.
The Dodgers will face Edward Cabrera, and he is 0-1 with a 6.14 ERA and a 1.43 WHIP. Considering Miami is 4-7 on the road, we’re not very confident in the Marlins.
The Didgers have scored the 10th most runs in baseball with 124. They may not be perfect offensively, but they tend to convert with runners in scoring position.

The New York Mets should play with something to prove on Monday. New York blew a 7-1 lead, which is unacceptable, but luckily, their series against the Nationals continues on Monday.
The Mets are the best team in baseball for a reason, despite being 7-8 on the road. The team enters Monday with a 19-9 record and the best pitching staff in baseball.
The Mets' offense has been inconsistent, but they don’t give up a lot of runs. They lead baseball in ERA and earned runs, which is remarkable.
Griffin Canning, who will start for New York, has been average. However, the bullpen should shut the door if the Mets get a lead.
