The Cincinnati Reds have started to deliver offensively, but their offense is still in the bottom half of Major League Baseball. Jeimer Candelario leads the offense in batting average, and he has a .252/.310/.492 slash line. 

Candelario is a solid MLB hitter, but the fact he leads the team in batting average shows how slim the offense is for the Reds. Spencer Steer and Elly De La Cruz are other players to look for in the Reds lineup, but they shouldn’t do enough against Paul Skenes to win on Monday. 

Skenes has been one of the most dominant pitchers in baseball this season. Although he has only made six starts, he is way ahead of pitchers with much more experience. He is 3-0 with a 2.43 ERA and a 0.96 WHIP. 

In 33.1 innings, he has allowed just 26 hits and recorded 46 strikeouts. His game has few flaws, and Pittsburgh shows up at the plate when he is on the mound. It won‘t be easy for Pittsburgh to hit Carson Spiers, who will throw for Cincinnati, as he has a 2.33 ERA and 1.19 WHIP. 

However, it’s hard to bet against Skenes, who has been fantastic this season. We expect him to continue dominating on Monday.

MLB Parlay Picks Today: Cardinals vs. Marlins (6:40 PM, EST)

Cardinals Moneyline (-154) at FanDuel

Sonny Gray will pitch for the Cardinals. He has been fantastic, going 8-4 with a 3.01 ERA and a 1.03 WHIP. St. Louis has a big pitching advantage against the Marlins. 

Braxton Garrett will pitch for Miami. In 31 innings of work, he has a 6.10 ERA and a 1.26 WHIP. Garrett has been disappointing in 2024, and we don’t expect him to improve on Monday. 

Look for the Cardinals to beat up on an inferior Miami club. The Marlins are 23-48 and have a 12-25 home record.

MLB Parlay Picks Today: Dodgers vs. Rockies (8:40 PM, EST)

Dodgers Moneyline (-178) at FanDuel

The Los Angeles Dodgers suffered a huge blow, losing Mookie Betts to a wrist injury. According to Dave Roberts, he will not need surgery but will miss time. 

The Dodgers have a lot of momentum coming into their game against the Rockies on Monday. They shut out the Royals 3-0 on Sunday at home. Colorado is a lousy baseball team, and Los Angeles has covered in two of their three games against Colorado. 

James Paxton will pitch for the Dodgers. He is 6-1 with a 3.92 ERA and a 1.41 WHIP. While these numbers aren’t good, Los Angeles has scored 60 more runs than the Rockies.

The Dodgers offense should have a lot of success against Cal Quantrill. Quantrill is 6-4 with a 3.30 ERA and a 1.25 WHIP. He has walked 30 batters in 79 innings, which is why his WHIP is high. 

Getting to Quantrill may take some time, but the Dodgers should be just fine in this contest.
